Both the superstars will team up against the Bloodline at Backlash

On the recent episodes of WWE SmackDown on the fallout of WrestleMania 40, Tama Tonga & Solo Sikoa of The Bloodline brutally assaulted Kevin Owens making the numbers game play out. However last Friday, Randy Orton came to save Kevin Owens from Bloodline. This resulted in a Tag Team match at Backlash where Orton & Kevin Owens will team up to face Solo Sikoa & Tama Tonga of Bloodline.

Ahead of their match, Owens & Randy Orton will host the ‘R-KO Show’ this week on SmackDown in France. Since both are being on the same page, they tease of forming a new tag team.

Randy Orton & Kevin Owens’ new tag team

Orton on his X retweeted Wrestlenomics tweet saying that Randy Orton & Kevin Owens’ brawl against Bloodline has crossed over 1 million views on WWE’s official YouTube channel. Orton retweeted tagging Owens. To which Owens retweeted his tweet and posted ‘R-KO’ image, placing Owens’s logo ‘KO’ over Randy Orton’s ‘RKO’. This kick-started a rumor that they are teasing a full-fledged tag team formation.

Previously during a SmackDown show on the road to WrestleMania 40, when both teamed up to take out A-Town Down, Ring Announcer, Cathay Kelly hinted asking what is their team name “RKO or RKOKO?”

Orton and Owens have been having a great time since both became members of the blue brand. They worked as a unit to take down Austin Theory & Grayson Waller, Logan Paul on the road to WrestleMania and more. Although both fought against each other at Mania, they stood on the same page.

Owens in a number of backstage interviews expressed his love and respect for Orton, saying that having him in the locker room feels absolutely positive for him, teasing Orton the locker room leader.

Owens also in an interview with talkSPORT at a pre-WrestleMania press event said that he never got a chance to spend anything major with Orton since his WWE debut and was excited to have him in the ring at WrestleMania.

Owens said,

“I’ve never gotten the chance to do anything major with Randy over the last ten years somehow. To be in the ring with him at WrestleMania is incredible.”

Could the backstage rumors be true? Will we be able to see Orton & Owens go for the tag team gold in the future against their favourite opponents, Austin Theory & Grayson Waller? Comment your thoughts.
