Top five WWE Superstars who can help Cody Rhodes against John Cena & The Rock

John Cena sold his soul and aligned with The Rock at Elimination Chamber 2025

Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes was given a unique offer by Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, the offer had a deadline and Rhodes needed to make his decision at the Elimination Chamber 2025 PLE. However, Rhodes rejected the Final Boss’ offer in front of a packed Rogers Centre and told him, “Hey Rock, go f*** yourself!” 

The Rock was accompanied by hip-hop stars Travis Scott while John Cena was also present in the ring as he had just won the men’s Chamber match. While Cena initially seemed to agree with Rhodes, everything changed when Johnson signaled a cut throat gesture and Cena’s expression changed.

Cena for the first time in his WWE career turned heel and landed a brutal low blow on the champion and continued to assault him as Johnson and Scott joined in, the attack left the champion bruised and bloodied as Cena and The Rock stood tall over Rhodes.

Although Rhodes appears to be at a disadvantage, he may receive assistance from a WWE star. Here, we explore five potential WWE stars who could aid The American Nightmare in his battle against the formidable alliance of Cena and Johnson.

5. Jey Uso

The friendship between Rhodes and “Main Event” Jey Uso is a well-known fact among fans, and while Jey is busy countering the World Heavyweight Champion Gunther ahead of their scheduled clash at Mania, he might just decide to aid Rhodes against Cena and The Rock, this would also give Jey well deserved screen time with two of the biggest stars in the promotion.

4. Seth Rollins

“The Visionary” Seth Rollins‘ hatred for The Rock is not a secret to WWE fans, especially those who have witnessed last year’s WrestleMania where Rollins teamed up with Cody to battle the team of Roman Reigns and The Rock. Rollins’ hatred for The Rock might be the only thing common between him and CM Punk. Rollins can once again join forces with Rhodes and help him against the formidable alliance.

3. Roman Reigns

“The OTC” Roman Reigns might seem an odd choice as someone who might help Rhodes against the formidable alliance. However, since turning face, Reigns has already teamed up with Cody to battle Solo Sikoa‘s Bloodline. The Rock even made an appearance after their match at Bad Blood 2024 and made that cut throat gesture.

There have been multiple reports of a potential matchup between The Rock and Reigns, and while the match never materialized, an alliance with Cody might force Johnson’s hand to step into the squared circle.

2. Randy Orton

“The Viper” Randy Orton made his surprising return at the Elimination Chamber PLE and is now set to appear on this week’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown. Orton was by Cody’s side when Kevin Owens turned on him and ambushed the champion, Orton, in his return on the Blue brand, might help Rhodes to counter The Rock and Cena.

1. CM Punk

“The Second City Saint” CM Punk has recently expressed how he feels about Cena and The Rock, especially after Cena capitalized on a cheap shot landed by Rollins in the men’s Chamber match. Punk went off on Cena on this week’s Raw, accusing him of selling the fans “bullsh*t” and asserted that he hadn’t given up on his dream of main eventing WrestleMania.

Punk vowed to get his hands on both Cena and The Rock, before shifting his attention to Seth Rollins. The best way to exact his revenge might be teaming up with Rhodes to counter Cena and The Rock. This would also be a dream team for fans as four stars of such magnitude being involved in a storyline would be a treat to watch for fans.
