(11/06) episode of WWE NXT will emanate from the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia
The special Wednesday episode of (11/06) WWE NXT will emanate from the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia, Pennslyvania, USA. The 2300 Arena was the original home of ECW and it has broadcasted the first ECW pay-per-view Barely Legal.
Known as the birthplace of American hardcore wrestling, the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia has hosted the Hardcore Hall of Fame since 2002. Ahead of the November 6 event, let us look at the ECW legends that have been confirmed for the 11/06 show.
4. Dawn Marie
One of the members of the stable ‘Out The Mud’ Jaida Parker is scheduled to face former MMA star Lola Vice in a Hardcore Match with ECW legend Dawn Marie as the special guest referee.
Marie will return to the promotion for the first time in two decades. She last appeared in the WWE back in 2005 and spent five years working in ECW and SmackDown.
3. Bubba Rey Dudley
One of the most iconic ECW stars, Bubba Rey Dudley is also set to appear at the Wednesday event at the 2300 Arena. Dudley is currently under ‘Legends’ contract with the promotion.
However, unlike his fellow ECW stars who are set to appear on the show, Dudley will be seen in action as he will team up with the current NXT Champion Trick Williams to take on the team of Ethan Page and Ridge Holland in a tag team match.
Dudley’s last appearance was during WrestleMania 40 where he was the special guest referee for the tag team match between The Pride and The Final Testament.
2. Francine
A staple of ECW from 1994 to 2001, Francine is gearing up for her WWE return at the 2300 Arena show. The ECW legend’s presence at NXT has fans buzzing with nostalgia.
On October 29, ECW Original Francine shared a video on social media announcing her appearance on the November 6 episode of WWE NXT, which will take place at the 2300 Arena.
“On Wednesday, November 6, I am coming home to the place where it all started for me, the ECW Arena. Philly, NXT, get ready because we are going to take you to the extreme.” The ECW legend said.
1. Rob Van Dam
ECW and TNA legend, Rob Van Dam made a guest appearance on last week’s episode of NXT. During his appearance, he also discussed plans for the next week’s show with NXT’s General Manager Ava.
However, a backstage fight during the show between Wes Lee and Je’Von Evans gave him the perfect idea for the 2300 arena show.
The ECW legend is expected to be the special guest referee for the grudge match between Lee and Evans on the 11/06 episode of NXT in Philadelphia.
It would be interesting to see what the WWE has in store for fans at the 2300 Arena and whether more ECW legends will show up at the event in Philadelphia.
