The Indian shooting team broke several records at the continental event this time.

The Indian shooting contingent concluded their Asian Games 2023 campaign on a positive note, securing a bronze medal in the Men's Individual Trap Event. Kynan Darius Chenai emerged as the accomplished athlete who secured this notable achievement on Sunday.

Indian shooters have made history by achieving the highest number of medals in a single edition of the Asian Games. In total, they have secured 22 medals in shooting, including 7 gold, 9 silver, and 6 bronze medals. This remarkable achievement surpassed India's previous record of 14 medals in the Doha Asian Games of 2008.

In the last edition of the Asian Games 2018 held in Jakarta, the Indian shooting contingent had a below-par performance, securing just nine medals including 2 gold.

Prior to the commencement of the 2023 Asian Games, India had a total of 58 medals in their possession, including 9 gold medals. The achievements in this particular edition have effectively escalated the overall tally to 80 medals, with an impressive count of 15 gold medals.

With Palak Gulia and Sift Kaur being the only individual gold medalists in their respective events, the other four gold medals were clinched in team events.

Aishwary Pratap Singh Tomar, alongside Esha Singh, has attained the highest number of accolades. Esha has garnered three silver medals and one gold medal, while Aishwary has obtained two gold medals, one silver medal, and one bronze medal.

Apart from Palak and Sift the other gold medalists who have bagged it in team events are Aishwary Pratap Singh Tomar, Sarabjot Singh, Shiva Narwal, Arjun Singh Cheema, Divyansh Singh Panwar, Rudrankksh Balasaheb Patil, Swapnil Kusale, Akhil Sheoran, Kynan Darius Chenai, Prithviraj Tondaiman, Zoravar Singh Sandhu, Rhythm Sangwan, Manu Bhaker and Esha Singh

Sarabjot Singh and Divya Ts have achieved a notable accomplishment by securing a silver medal in the Mixed Team 10m Air Pistol event, marking them as the sole pair to accomplish such a feat in the competition.

A new historical milestone was achieved when Kynan Chenai, Zoravar Singh Sandhu, and Prithviraj Toindaman secured the gold medal for India in the men's trap team event, surpassing the Asian Games' previous record with an outstanding score of 361 points.
