World Athletics U-20 Championships Day 4: Priya Mohan, Amit Khatri aim for gold

Many top Indian talents will be in action on day 4 of the World Athletics U-20 Championships. India till now have won a solitary bronze medal on the first day itself. The Mixed 4x400m team relay of Priya Mohan, Summy, Kapil and Bharat Sridhar finished third in the finals behind Nigeria and Poland.

However not much has gone India's way since then. However the medal prospects like Amit Khatri, Priya Mohan will be in action on Day 4 and they will look to change the narrative by winning medals at the Kasarani Stadium in Nairobi.

Here is the list of Indian athletes who will be in action on day 4.

Men’s 10000m race walk (Amit Khatri) - 11:45 AM IST

One of India's top medal prospects at the World Athletics U-20 Championsips, race walker Amit Khatri will be in action on Saturday. The youngster from Haryana broke the national record earlier in 2021 in the Federation Cup. He clocked a timing of 40:40.97 and broke the national record, which was set in 2018. Amit will look to shine at the big stage.

Women’s 10000m race walk (Baljeet Kaur) - 12:50 PM IST

19-year-old race walker Baljeet Kaur will be the only Indian representative in the women's 10000m race walk at the World Athletics U-20 Championships. She has clocked a timing of 48:19.88 at the Indian U-20 Championships in the Sarusajai Stadium in Guwahati.

Women’s and men's 4x400m relay - 1:52 PM IST onwards

After winning the bronze medal in the mixed team 4x400m relay, the Indian contingent will be charged up to perform in the men's and women's 4x400m relays at the World U-20 Athletics Championships.

Sprinters Priya Mohan, Summy, Payal Vohra, Deepanshi and Kunjha Rajitha will be in action in women's 4x400m relay. On the other hand, Sumit Chahal, Narganjunan Selvaraj, Abdul Razak, Kapil and Bharat Sridhar will be in action for the men's 4x400m relay. Hopefully, both teams will be able to replicate their form from the mixed team success.

Men’s 400m hurdles semi-finals (Rohan Kamble) - 5:30 PM IST

India's only bright spark on Thursday, Rohan Kamble has qualified for the 400m hurdles semi-final at the World U-20 Athletics Championships. He will look to carry that momentum into the semis and will aim to qualify for the finals.

Women’s 400m final - 7:30 PM IST

Another Indian medal hopeful Priya Mohan, who has aced the qualifying heats will be in action for the finals. She has already bagged a bronze medal as part of the mixed team 4x400m relay and will look to go one better than that on Saturday.
