The Hong Kong Open 2023 is the 22nd tournament of the BWF (Badminton World Federation) World Tour this season. It's classified as a Super 500 event and is scheduled to be hosted at the Hong Kong Coliseum in Hong Kong from September 12 to September 17, 2023, featuring a prize pool of $420,000.

The competition has been held annually since 1986 until 2019, is returning after a four-year hiatus in the BWF circuit. The last Malaysian to win the title was legendary Lee Chong Wei, who went on to clinch his fifth Hong Kong Open title in the year 2017. The first title for Malaysia was won by Razif Sidek and Jalani Sidek in the year 1989.

In the upcoming week, all the eyes will be on Aaron Chia and Soh Wooi Yik who finished as runners up in the BWF China Open 2023 concluded this Sunday. Lee Zii Jia and NG Tze Yong in the men's singles would like to brush up their form just two weeks prior to Hangzhou Asian Games.
