The BWF Korea Masters 2023 marks the thirty-first tournament of the 2023 BWF World Tour and is an integral part of the Korea Masters championships, which have been held since 2007. This tournament is organized by the Badminton Korea Association with the sanction from the BWF.
In 2007, the tournament commenced as an International Challenge event, which is considered the fourth level in international badminton. Initially hosted in Suwon, it later moved to Yeosu in 2008 and Hwasun in 2009. In 2010, the tournament transformed, becoming a BWF Grand Prix event.

It gained BWF Grand Prix Gold status in 2011, maintaining this level until the conclusion of the Grand Prix Gold series in 2017. There was a brief return to Grand Prix status in 2014, coinciding with Korea hosting the Asian Games and the Badminton Asia Championships.
From 2011 to 2017, the tournament was held in cities in the southwest of Korea, including Hwasun in 2011 and 2012, Jeonju from 2013 to 2015, and later in Seogwipo and Gwangju. In 2015, the tournament’s name was changed to Korea Masters. In 2018, the tournament became part of the BWF World Tour Super 300 category, following the discontinuation of the Grand Prix Gold event format.
When and where is the BWF Korea Masters 2023 scheduled to take place?
The BWF Korea Masters 2023 is scheduled to be held from 7 November to 12 November 2023. This international tournament will be held at Gwangju Women’s University Stadium in Gwangju, South Korea.
