The Syed Modi International 2023 is the 34th tournament of the 2023 BWF World Tour and is also part of the Syed Modi International championships, which has been held since 2009. None of the top Malaysian shuttlers including Lee Zii Jia, NG Tze Yong etc., are taking part in the upcoming edition of the competition.
Former men's doubles world champion Aaron Chia and Soh Wooi Yik are taking a much-needed break to get ready for the BWF World Tour Finals which is scheduled for second week of December. In top stars absence, Leong Jun Hao who has good experience playing in the top level will be spearheading the contingent.
