Australia will face New Zealand in match No. 27 of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023.

After suffering defeats in the first two games of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023, Australia made a remarkable comeback in the tournament. They have beaten their next three opponents and have entered the top four in the points table. Australia are coming off three consecutive wins and are looking in good shape.

But they will now face New Zealand in their next match, which will take place on October 28 (Saturday), which will be the first game of the double-header. This game will be played at the HPCA Stadium in Dharamshala. New Zealand are in third place and have lost only one game. So let's check out the predicted playing XI for Australia against New Zealand.

AUS vs NZ: Australia's Predicted playing XI vs New Zealand

1. David Warner :

David Warner has been in great form, and he is coming off two consecutive hundreds against Pakistan and Netherlands, respectively. He has scored the most runs for Australia. He has scored 332 runs in five innings at an average and strike rate of 66.40 and 109.93. Warner will be a big wicket at the top who can set the platform for other batters.

2. Mitchell Marsh :

Apart from the century against Pakistan, Mitchell Marsh hasn't converted the starts he has gotten in this tournament. He has scored 189 runs at an average of 37.80. Marsh is an attacking batter who likes to go with the flow once he gets set. He also bowled well in the last game and took two wickets.

3. Steven Smith :

After some poor outings, Steve Smith finally got into rhythm and scored a fluent 71 against Netherlands. That will provide him with great confidence, and he will look to do well in the coming game. Smith's form will be very important for Australia in the coming game because he is a big match player.

4. Marnus Labuschagne :

Marnus Labuschagne has been a consistent batter for Australia and has played some useful innings so far. He has scored 183 runs in five innings at an average of 36.60. Labuschagne is a very important player for the middle-order because of his ability to stick to the wicket and because he can play well against spinners and pacers.

5. Josh Inglis (wk) :

Josh Inglis has been a great addition in the middle-order because of his ability to strike the ball hard. He is a T20 specialist and has played some good cameos for Australia. His 58-run innings against Sri Lanka helped Australia register their first points on the table. He will be looking to do well for his team to take them close to the semis.

6. Glenn Maxwell :

If Glenn Maxwell gets going, it will be hard to stop him, as everyone saw in Delhi against Netherlands. He smashed the fastest World Cup hundred off just 40 balls and tore apart the oppositions bowling attack. Maxwell will look to do something similar against New Zealand. Maxwell is the X-factor on his team in both departments.

7. Cameron Green :

Cameron Green will play against New Zealand. He is a match-winner in both departments of the game and has provided it on many occasions. The tall all-rounder has been under the pump after scoring low scores, but he can make good contributions with both bat and ball, which makes him a crucial member of the team.

8. Pat Cummins (c) :

Pat Cummins looks to be getting into his own, which he is known for. Australian skipper is among the best bowlers in modern-day cricket, but he looked rusty in the first few games. But his performance is very important for the team. He adds value with his bowling in the middle overs and as a strike bowler.

9. Mitchell Starc :

Mitchell Starc will be the biggest threat with the new ball when the conditions are favorable to bowlers in Dharamsala. He will have a big responsibility to provide breakthroughs at the start and restrict the scoring rate in death overs. Starc has taken seven wickets so far, and his opening spell in the powerplay will be the most important.

10. Adam Zampa :

Adam Zampa has been superb and is the prime reason for Australia's three consecutive wins. It is because he has picked up three consecutive four-wicket hauls, which has put him at the top of the wickets tally in this competition. Zampa has taken 13 wickets so far and will be a very big hurdle to cross during the middle overs for New Zealand.

11. Josh Hazlewood :

Josh Hazlewood hasn't picked up many wickets, but he has been pretty impressive in what he has done so far. He has six wickets at an economy rate of 4.84 and has put the batters under pressure with his steady bowling. He will get extra help in Dharamasala and can make the ball talk in both directions.
