Only five batsmen have scored multiple T20I centuries against a single opposition.

Scoring a hundred in T20 format is one of the most challenging tasks for any batsman. With just 20 overs at their disposal, the batsmen are under consistent pressure to maximize every ball they face.

The fast-paced nature of the format requires the batsmen to take extensive risks from the get-go. While batsmen are generally judged on their batting averages in tests and ODI, the shortest format of the game demands a high strike rate and impact.

Over the years the format has seen many explosive batsmen leave their legacy on the game. While several players have managed to score centuries, replicating the feat against the same opposition is quite a challenge.

5. Muhammad Waseem (UAE) – 2 centuries vs Ireland

The first of two T20I centuries of UAE batsman Mohammad Waseem’s career came against Ireland. In 2021 in Dubai, Waseem whacked the Irish bowling lineup, scoring 107* off 62 balls, guiding UAE to a comfortable seven-wicket win. His innings consisted of 14 fours and four sixes.

In 2022 in Oman, Waseem struck another ton against the Irish, scoring 112 off 56 balls to lead UAE to a convincing win by six wickets. Waseem’s innings included seven fours and eight sixes. He was named Player of the Match on both occasions.

4. Glenn Maxwell (AUS) – 2 centuries vs India

Nicknamed “Big Show,” Glenn Maxwell toyed with the Indian bowling lineup in 2019, registering an emphatic innings of 113* in 55 balls in Bengaluru. Maxwell’s assault included seven fours and nine sixes. His knock led Australia to a remarkable series win in 2019.

Maxwell replicated his amazing feat in 2023 in Guwahati, blasting 104* off 48 balls. Maxwell’s century, which helped Australia chase down the massive total of 223, is regarded as one of the most remarkable T20I ton by any visiting batter in India.

3. Evin Lewis (WI) – 2 centuries vs India

Evin Lewis has hammered two T20I centuries against India. Lewis first stunned India in 2016 with his knock of 100 off 49 balls in a T20I in Lauderhill. His efforts helped West Indies register a thrilling win by only one run.

Lewis returned to haunt India in 2017 with another commanding innings of 125* off 62 balls in Kingston. Lewis was named Player of the Match on both occasions.

2. Leslie Dunbar (SRB) – 2 centuries vs Bulgaria

Serbia’s Leslie Dunbar has scored two T20I centuries against Bulgaria. The first of these two came in 2019 when he helped Serbia reach a competitive total of 156 with his knock of 104* off 63 balls.

Leslie repeated his heroics in 2022, scoring a quick-fire 117 off just 50 balls with the help of nine fours and 11 sixes. Dunbar’s impressive innings propelled Serbia to a mammoth total of 242 runs. Dunbar was named Player of the Match for his match-winning effort.

1. Phil Salt (ENG) – 3 centuries vs West Indies

England’s star wicket-keeper opener Phil Salt holds the record of scoring the most T20I centuries against a single opposition with his three centuries against West Indies.

Salt’s maiden T20I hundred came in a thrilling chase of 223 runs against West Indies in Grenada in the 2023 series, where his explosive 109* off 56 balls led England to victory. Three days later in Tarouba, he followed it with an even quicker 119 off 57 balls.

In 2024, Salt hit his third T20I ton against West Indies, scoring 103* off 54 balls in Bridgetown. England won all three T20Is in which Salt struck a century.
