BCCI increases the prize money in Indian Domestic Cricket, Ranji Trophy winners to get 5 crores

In a recent development, The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), has increased the prize money for Indian Domestic Cricket tournaments.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) secretary Jay Shah has announced a new prize pool for the Indian Domestic tournaments. Jay Shah on Twitter has announced that the Ranji Trophy winners will get 5 Crores from the next and upcoming seasons than the previous amount of 2 Crores. The BCCI has increased the prize money of other domestic tournaments as well. Not only the winners but runners-up and semi-finalists will also get a heavy amount of prize money. Saurashtra won their second Ranji Trophy title and bagged 2 Crore as Prize money in the 2022-23 season.
BCCI Secretary Jay Shah tweeted a revised structure of the prize pool and said, “I am pleased to announce an increase in prize money for all domestic Tournaments. We will continue our efforts to invest in Domestic Cricket which is the backbone of Indian Cricket. Ranji winners to get 5 Crore (from 2 Cr), Senior Women winners 50 Lac (from 6 lac)”. The runners-up in Ranji Trophy will be getting 3 Crore, an increase from the previous amount of 1 Crore. Two losing Semi-finalists will earn 1 Crore which is a 100% increase from the previous 50 Lac. Not only the Ranji Trophy but many tournaments will see a hike in their prize money.
Recently the BCCI has invested a huge amount of money in the grassroots cricket of India. They are trying their level best to increase the infrastructure for domestic cricketers. Recently they started the Women's Premier League as well to develop the pool of women's cricketers in India. WPL concluded just a month ago with a huge reception from the fans and WPL also attracted business toward itself. The next Indian Domestic season will begin on 28th June with Duleep Trophy.
