Cameron Green was part of Australia’s XI that beat India in the WTC 2023 final at The Oval.

Australia all-rounder Cameron Green is stoked to feature in the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) 2024/25, which will start on November 22. For the first time since the 1991/92 series, India and Australia will compete in a five-match test series.

India currently hold the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, and have won the last four test series against Australia, including two series Down Under.

However, the Aussies thumped India in the ultimate clash that was the World Test Championship 2023 final at The Oval by 209 runs through centuries from Travis Head and Steve Smith.

We’ve been trying to get as much information out of India: Cameron Green

Having played against India regularly in recent years, Green reckons that the information they gained will be helpful when they meet India in the WTC final.

Australia and India are currently on top of the WT 2023-25 standings as well, and could meet in the final again next year. Green opined that the BGT 2024-25 could be a preview for next year’s WTC final.

“If it is a bit of a preview for a World Test Championship final again, I think yeah, we’ve been trying to get as much information out of India and see how we can win it again,” Green told Star Sports.

In the upcoming series, Australia would be looking to regain the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, while India would be aiming for a hat-trick of series wins Down Under.

“Yeah, I think it’s always an amazing rivalry and I think lots of things come out of the tournament every single time we go versus each other. So yeah, I’m sure this series won’t be any less. So yeah, looking forward to it,” the all-rounder stated.

“Every single point is pretty crucial for the World Test Championship. Any way you can kind of get an idea of how to get one up on your opponent, I think we’ll try and take.”
