Delhi Capitals (DC) strongest playing XI for IPL 2025

Delhi Capitals (DC) finished sixth in the IPL 2024.
Delhi Capitals (DC) will enter the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season with a well-rounded squad. As they start a new era after parting ways with wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant, the new DC roster consists of a great mix of experienced and young players.
One of the key inclusions for the franchise has been Indian opener KL Rahul for INR 14 crores. While they lost their former captain Pant to Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), DC roped in LSG’s former captain Rahul for a fair price. Rahul will not only strengthen DC’s batting order, but is also a huge favourite to captain them next season.
DC acquired superstar Australian fast bowler Mitchell Starc. Starc, who was sold for INR 24.75 crores last season, was bought by the Capitals for a reasonable price of INR 11.75 crores. Starc will join Indian pacers Mukesh Kumar and T Natarajan. Mohit Sharma and Dushmantha Chameera are the back up options in the fast bowling department for Delhi.
In the batting department, the franchise signed Harry Brook for INR 6.25 crores to partner Tristan Stubbs in the middle order. Jake Fraser-McGurk was retained via the Right to Match (RTM) card and offers a potential opening partnership with KL Rahul. Abhishek Porel will add versatility to the lineup with the flexibility of batting anywhere in the top six.
DC had retained their core before the IPL 2025 mega auction, holding on to Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, Tristan Stubbs and Porel. Delhi have a strong spin department with Axar, Kuldeep and Tripurana Vijay in the squad. Youngsters like Ashutosh Sharma and Sameer Rizvi are also expected to play important roles throughout the season.
DC are yet to announce their captain officially.
