Top five player battles to watch out for in LSG vs PBKS Match No. 11 in IPL 2024
LSG vs PBKS game in IPL 2024 will take place on Saturday at Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow.
In the Indian Premier League 2024 Match No. 11, the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) will take on the Punjab Kings (PBKS) at the Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow on March 30.
The Lucknow-based franchise have played one match in the ongoing 2024 season. They played their first away fixture against the Rajasthan Royals in Jaipur last week. However, LSG faced a defeat by 20 runs against the Royals.
Meanwhile, PBKS won their opening game of IPL 2024 by four wickets against the Delhi Capitals. However, they suffered a heartbreaking defeat by the same margin against Royal Challengers Bengaluru at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. Both LSG and PBKS will now look to win this crucial encounter and bounce back strongly in the tournament.
LSG vs PBKS: Head-to-Head Record
Both sides have played each other just three times in the IPL. Lucknow have emerged victorious three times, while Punjab have won one game.
LSG vs PBKS: Top five player battles to watch
1. KL Rahul vs Kagiso Rabada
In case LSG skipper KL Rahul decides to open again, he will have to face PBKS’ ace right-arm speedster Kagiso Rabada, who has picked up three wickets in the first two games so far in the IPL 2024 season.
Rabada’s hit-the-deck bowling might trouble Rahul, who looked scratchy in the first match against RR despite scoring 58 runs from 44 balls.
2. Shikhar Dhawan vs Mohsin Khan
PBKS captain Shikhar Dhawan will open the innings for his side. Dhawan will have to come up with a plan against Lucknow’s left-arm pacer Mohsin Khan. The veteran opener has seen getting in trouble when the ball moves away from him early on in the innings.
Mohsin can shape the ball away from the left-handers and we have seen Dhawan chop on against left-arm speedsters early on in his innings.
3. Liam Livingstone vs Ravi Bishnoi
This is the battle to watch out for. The Kings’ hard-hitter Liam Livingstone blasts the spinners right from ball-one and Lucknow’s clever leg-spinner Ravi Bishnoi will look to take his wicket early on in his innings.
4. Nicholas Pooran vs Rahul Chahar
Another interesting battle that will take place in the middle overs during the LSG and PBKS clash is between Super Giants’ batter Nicholas Pooran and the Kings’ leg-spinner Rahul Chahar.
Pooran will surely not mind taking on Chahar from ball-one and this will keep the spinner in the game as he can take his wicket anytime.
5. Quinton de Kock vs Harpreet Brar
The LSG opener Quinton de Kock likes to take the game on from the very first over. De Kock doesn’t need to time to settle. Meanwhile, Punjab’s left-arm spinner Harpreet Brar, who bowled a brilliant spell against RCB may pose some danger for the wicket-keeper.
The left-handed batter likes to bat against spinners and the left-arm spinner may spin a web of traps for him.
