Hardik Pandya picked up 2 wickets in his comeback match at the DY Patil T20 Tournament ahead of IPL 2024.

A positive news for the Mumbai Indians (MI) and Indian cricket team ahead of the two mega tournaments, i.e. the Indian Premier League (IPL 2024) and the ICC T20 World Cup 2024, as Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya made a sensational comeback to the playing field on February 26 as he captained the Reliance 1 side in the DY Patil T20 tournament.

This comeback marks a significant update on regarding Pandya’s fitness. He has been out of action since sustaining an ankle injury during the ODI World Cup 2023 against Bangladesh.

Pandya’s return comes as a huge boost for the Indian cricket team and his fans alike, especially considering his recent appointment as captain of the Mumbai Indians for the IPL 2024. The all-rounder is known for his explosive batting, skillful bowling, and electric fielding, making his presence on the field crucial for any team.

The DY Patil T20 Tournament serves as the perfect platform for Pandya to regain his match fitness and sharpen his skills before the high-octane IPL season and the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup in June.

His participation in the tournament will allow him to assess his recovery progress, build confidence ahead of leading the Mumbai Indians, and also play a significant role in the upcoming T20 World Cup in the West Indies and the United States of America (USA).

According to a CricketNext report, the National Cricket Academy (NCA) enrolled Hardik Pandya in a high-performance program with a focus on long-term goals and significant white-ball assignments. The 30-year-old Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya had worked on his fitness during the past four months and is set to make his on-field comeback.

Playing competitive cricket for the first time in four months, Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya took 2/22 in three overs during the DY Patil T20 tournament 2024 match between Reliance 1 and BPCL on February 26.

The new Mumbai Indians captain, Hardik Pandya, took the wickets of BPCL top-order batsmen Eknath Kerkar and Rahul Tripathi. It is to be noted that the 30-year-old Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya captained Reliance 1 team that featured the likes of Tilak Varma, Nehal Wadhera, Akash Madhwal, and Piyush Chawla against BPCL.
