IND vs BAN: Most runs, most wickets after 1st test, Chennai

India won the first IND vs BAN by 280 runs in Chennai.
The Indian cricket team outclassed Bangladesh as they won the first test match in Chennai by a massive margin of 280 runs at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on September 22.
In India’s first innings, Ravichandran Ashwin’s fantastic 113 runs and all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja’s crucial 86-run knock helped the hosts reach 376. For Bangladesh, seamer Hasan Mahmud picked a five-wicket haul.
In reply, Bangladesh were bundled for just 149 runs after Indian seamer Jasprit Bumrah bagged a four-wicket haul.
Batting second, India declared at 287-4 after Shubman Gill (119*) and Rishabh Pant (109) notched up brilliant centuries. The Indian side set a massive target of 519 runs for Bangladesh.
While chasing, Bangladesh skipper Najmul Hossain Shanto played a fighting knock of 82 runs, but the visitors surrendered against India’s great spin duo of Ashwin and Jadeja.
Ashwin scalped six wickets, whereas Jadeja took three wickets to bowl out Bangladesh for 234 runs and win the game by 280 runs.
IND vs BAN test series 2024: Most Runs
Indian wicket-keeper batter Rishabh Pant, who scored 39 and 109 in the first test, leads the chart with 148 runs to his name. Shubman Gill, who registered a duck in the first innings, bounced back well in the second innings with 119 and is placed second on the list.
At third position is India’s Ravi Ashwin, who notched up a brilliant century in the first innings. Next on the list is Bangladesh captain Najmul Hossain Shanto with 102 runs to his name. Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja is positioned fifth with 82 runs.

IND vs BAN: Most Wickets
Ravichandran Ashwin not only starred with the bat, but also with the ball in the first test as he picked his 37th five-wicket haul in test cricket. With six wickets in the first test, he leads the wicket-taking chart of the series. Jasprit Bumrah is placed second with five scalps.
Ravindra Jadeja, who picked five wickets in the game is placed third. Bangladesh’s Hasan Mahmud, who picked a five-wicket haul in the first innings, couldn’t add more to his tally in the second innings and is placed fourth with five wickets to his name. Taskin Ahmed holds the fifth spot with four wickets to his name.
