India vs Pakistan, ICC Cricket World Cup 2023: Hotel prices in Ahmedabad shoot upto 1 Lakh per night

India will face Pakistan on October 15 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in ICC ODI World Cup 2023.
On Tuesday, the schedule for the upcoming 2023 ODI World Cup was announced by the International Cricket Council (ICC). The tournament will see ten different venues host these games during the mega event. A total of 48 matches will be played by ten teams, including the final. The tournament will kick off on October 5 at the Narendra Modi Stadium with a game between the 2019 edition's finalists, England and New Zealand.
The tournament will conclude on November 19 in Ahmedabad only. Notably, the same venue is selected to host probably the biggest game of the ODI World Cup. It will be India facing Pakistan on October 15 at the Narendra Modi Stadium. As soon as the schedule was announced, everyone was excited to see these two teams meet in a high-profile clash.
Hotel Prices skyrocketed for India-Pakistan match in the 2023 ODI World Cup
No one can forget the game these two teams produced when they met in the 2022 T20 World Cup at the MCG in front of almost 100,000 spectators. Something similar is expected from the upcoming game, which will take place at the world's biggest cricket stadium with a capacity of well over 100,000. Though we are still more than three months away from the game, the fans are making sure that they will be present for that iconic game.
As a result, hotel prices in Ahmedabad are increasing rapidly and touching the sky. The Hotel Association President of Gujarat, Narendra Somani, said that there have been huge numbers of advance bookings taking place for hotels in Ahmedabad, and that too at a massive price. He told ANI, "The ODI World Cup match is being held in Ahmedabad, that too India vs Pakistan. The capacity of the stadium is over one lakh. Around 35,000 people are coming across the country, across the world. There is a huge gap between the demand and supply. It has been seen that ever since the schedule was announced, online booking started at prices two times, 10 times or even 20 times higher. Different hotels charged different prices and all these prices are due to the big demand-supply gap."
He also stated that fans who are not getting any bookings in Ahmedabad are booking hotels in Nadiad, Baroda, and other places that are within 100 km of the stadium. He also thanked the BJP government for another big event in the state. Somani said, "Under the BJP Government, we keep getting massive events. The G20 events for example. Such things are a good sign for our hotel industry." India will open their World Cup campaign on October 8 against Australia in Chennai.
