IPL 2024: Points table, most runs, most wickets after match 12 & 13, GT vs SRH & DC vs CSK

Gujarat Titans and Delhi Capitals won their respective home games on Sunday in the IPL 2024.

Fans were treated to two high-octane clashes on Sunday in the IPL 2024. The first game of the day was played between Gujarat Titans (GT) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. It started with SRH winning the toss and deciding to bat first.

They were coming off a record-breaking score in the last game, where they made 277 against Mumbai Indians. However, they couldn’t replicate the same batting display because GT bowlers bowled in tight lines and the pitch was also a two-paced one. As a result, SRH only managed a below-par score of 162/8.

None of their batters reached 30 runs. Mohit Sharma bowled a brilliant spell of 3/25. Chasing the score, GT had some useful partnerships in the middle. Sai Sudharshan (45 off 36) and David Miller (44* off 27) played good innings, and GT reached 168/3 in 19.1 overs to win their second game of the season.

In the second game of the day, Delhi Capitals (DC) took on the defending champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in Vizag. DC were coming off two consecutive defeats in this game. Rishabh Pant won the toss and decided to bat first. Prithvi Shaw got a game, and he played a good innings.

DC had a 93-run opening stand between Shaw (43 off 27) and David Warner. The Australian opener scored a 35-ball 53. It was followed by another good innings. The DC skipper, Rishabh Pant, scored 51 off 32 balls. DC ended up with a competitive score of 191/5.

CSK got off to a horrible start, and both openers were back in the hut within the first three overs. Ajinkya Rahane (45 off 30) and Darly Mitchell (34 off 26) showed some fight, but that was not enough. In the end, CSK fell short and faced their first defeat of the IPL 2024. Meanwhile, DC earned two important points and opened account on the points table.

Two matches have made some ups and downs in the points table in the IPL 2024. SRH lost the game and slipped to fifth place. Meanwhile, GT, who won the home game, added two important points to the board. GT have now moved to fourth place.

But their NRR is still -0.738, which can be a worry going ahead. However, DC earned two important points and jumped to seventh place, surpassing PBKS and RCB. CSK were at the top, but after losing to DC, they slipped to second place, and KKR moved up.

IPL 2024: Most Runs (Orange Cap)

Heinrich Klaasen was looking good for a third consecutive half-century in the IPL 2024. But he played a wrong shit and got bowled off Rashid Khan. He made a 13-ball 24, which helped him stay at the second highest run-scorer in the IPL 2024.

On the other hand, a 35-ball 53 from David Warner in the first innings against CSK helped him climb up to the fourth spot as the highest run-scorer in the tournament. Virat Kohli is sitting at the top of the table with 181 runs.

Two matches were played on Sunday in the IPL 2024, and it has certainly made many changes in the table of the leading wicket-takers in the IPL 2024. Mustafizur Rahman was at the top, and he took one wicket against DC, and with 7 wickets, he is still at the top.

With three wickets against SRH, Mohit Sharma not only won the Man of the Match award but also became the second highest wicket-taker in the competition with six points. Khaleel Ahmed and Matheesha Patirana also made entries into the top five wicket-takers in the tournament.
