IPL 2025: BCCI warns stakeholders of potential match-fixing approaches - Reports

BCCI has warned all the stakeholders during the ongoing IPL 2025.

The 18th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) has lived up to the expectations. But amid all the action in the IPL 2025, big news is taking everyone by shock. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has issued a warning for all the stakeholders involved in the IPL 2025 about potentially corruption activities.

These stakeholders include team owners, management, players, umpires, and even commentators in the IPL 2025. The BCCI has specified that a businessman based from Hyderabad might try to attract the stakeholders and promote them to take part in illegal activities.

BCCI’s Anti-Corruption Security Unit asks IPL stakeholders to report any suspicious approaches

As reported by Cricbuzz, the BCCI’s Anti-Corruption Security Unit (ACSU) has warned all the franchises, including players, owners, support staff, umpires, and commentators, to report any approach made to them to promote any kind of corrupt activities. The report further states that a businessman from Hyderabad is seeking an opportunity to have a tie to promote betting in the IPL 2025.

This individual is suspected to have a link with the betting alliance and has been seen as a cricket fan trying to befriend the stakeholders involved in the IPL 2025. The businessman uses the method of approaching by offering expensive items to lure players and others.

The report stated, “One of the methods reportedly employed by him involves approaching family members of franchise owners, players, coaches, support staff, and even commentators.”

Some reports also confirmed that this individual was also involved in the spot-fixing activities in 2013 and was arrested back then. Hence, the ACSU has requested all the franchises and others to stay active if something happens and report them on a priority basis.
