IPL 2025: Points table, most runs, most wickets after match 9, GT vs MI

GT defeated MI by 36 runs in the ninth match of IPL 2025.
On Saturday, March 29, Gujarat Titans (GT) defeated Mumbai Indians (MI) by 36 runs in the ninth match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025.
After losing the toss and being invited to bat first, GT started well, with Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan adding 78 runs for the first wicket. Sudharsan (63) and Jos Buttler (39) held the GT innings together after Gill’s dismissal with a 51-run stand for the second wicket.
MI captain Hardik Pandya emerged as the most successful bowler for the visitors, registering match figures of 2/29 to restrict GT to 196/8.
In reply, MI had a disastrous start, losing openers Rohit Sharma and Ryan Rickelton cheaply inside the powerplay.
Tilak Varma (39) and Suryakumar Yadav (48) built a partnership, but couldn’t accelerate enough to take their team home. The pressure kept mounting as MI lost wickets at regular intervals in the middle overs.
Prasidh Krishna completely choked the run flow of MI and emerged as the most successful bowler for the hosts with figures 2/18 in four overs, guiding GT to a 36-run win.

Thanks to a comfortable win, GT now have two points from two matches and are placed third in the points table. MI, on the other hand, are yet to open their account in the tournament and are placed ninth in the points table.
RCB and LSG sit comfortably in the top two spots, while PBKS, DC, SRH, KKR, and CSK occupy the fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh, and eighth positions respectively. MI and RR hold the bottom two places in the IPL 2025 points table.

Nicholas Pooran leads the run-scorers’ chart with 145 runs in the tournament. He is followed by GT’s Sai Sudharsan, who has moved to second place with 137 runs. LSG opener Mitchell Marsh holds the third spot with a tally of 124 runs.
SRH’s Travis Head is in fourth spot with 114 runs. Ishan Kishan completes the list of top five with 106 runs.

The only change following ninth match of IPL 2025 between GT vs MI was GT’s R Sai Kishore moving to the fifth spot. CSK’s Noor Ahmad still tops the chart with seven wickets. LSG’s Shardul Thakur follows next with six wickets to his name. Third on the list is Josh Hazlewood of RCB with five wickets. CSK’s Khaleel Ahmed is slotted at fourth spot with four wickets. He’s a spot higher than R Sai Kishore because of his economy.
