MS Dhoni has made Ravindra Jadeja what he is today, there's no rift between both, says Ambati Rayudu

Former CSK and India batsman Ambati Rayudu claimed there's no rift between MS Dhoni and Ravindra Jadeja.

News about Jadeja's strained relationship with MS Dhoni and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) had been making headlines since he stepped down from his captaincy role during the IPL 2022 season. According to reports, Dhoni's comment about Jadeja not handling the pressure of captaincy did not sit well with the talented all-rounder. During that time, Jadeja left the CSK camp, citing a rib injury, but there were strong speculations that he was deeply dissatisfied with the team's management.

The situation worsened when both Jadeja and CSK unfollowed each other on their social media accounts, indicating possible discord between them. Despite all these controversies and speculations, CSK decided to retain Jadeja as part of their team.

"Everything is fine," Jadeja tweeted with a picture of him bowing to Dhoni after CSK made the announcement.

Rayudu played a part in CSK's 5th IPL title

Rayudu, who played for the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) during their triumphant fifth IPL title win this year, acknowledged that Dhoni played a pivotal role in shaping Jadeja's success as a cricketer. He expressed his hope to witness Dhoni leading CSK once again in the IPL 2024 season. Additionally, Rayudu himself contributed significantly with a crucial innings in the IPL 2023 final.

"I don't think Jaddu was upset with Mahi bhai at all. It was just that he was sad because the team wasn't doing great. Everyone's performances that year were not coming up to the mark," Rayudu said in an video posted by BehindwoodsTV.

"He (Dhoni) has put this team and has made Jaddu what he is today. He has nurtured him for what, 10-12 years. So he would naturally be happy that the product that he made has won the final for CSK after whatever happened last year," Rayudu said about Jadeja who hit a last ball boundary against Gujarat Titans (GT) to win the IPL 2023 for CSK.

"That's a testament to how CSK is that it keeps its family together. I hope Mahi bhai leads the team in the next season. Till the time he wants to play, he should lead the team," Rayudu concluded.
