Prasidh Krishna played his last international game for India during the tour of Zimbabwe in August 2022.

The Indian team have been suffering from several injuries in the last couple of years. A number of key players who are an important part of the team across formats are unavailable due to their respective injuries. The likes of Jasprit Bumrah, Shreyas Iyer, KL Rahul, and Rishabh Pant are some big names in the Indian cricket team who are not available. Another name that has been out of action for almost a year now is Prasidh Krishna.

The 26-year-old pacer was part of the Indian team during their tour of Zimbabwe for the white-ball series. Since then, he has been out of action due to a stress fracture. Krishna has been undergoing rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru. He was India's first-choice pacer in ODIs, ahead of Mohammed Siraj. In 14 games, Krishna has taken 25 wickets for India at an economy rate of 5.32.

Prasidh Krishna is expected to return to India's ODI squad for the upcoming Asia Cup 2023 - Reports

The 26-year-old also missed the entire season of the 16th edition of the Indian Premier League. Prasidh Krishna was part of the Rajasthan Royals setup and played a crucial role in 2022. Meanwhile, with not much time left for the upcoming 2023 ODI World Cup, India will hope he recovers in time. However, some media reports from IndianExpress suggest that the pacer is doing well in rehab and is expected to be back soon.

After a successful surgery for a lumber stress fracture, Prasidh Krishna has resumed bowling at the nets and has been recovering well at the NCA. There were some doubts about his fitness and whether he would make it before the World Cup or not, but he has shown great signs of recovery. Though he might not make the team for the upcoming Ireland tour for T20Is, one can expect him to be part of the team for the upcoming Asia Cup 2023.

This will be a big gain for Team India, as they are missing a bowler who can bowl over 140 km/h regularly. Meanwhile, Siraj and Mohammed Shami have done a great job for India across formats, but India will look to manage their workload with a big tournament coming up in India. Being the hosts, India are expected to do well in the World Cup, and for that, they need all their key players to be fit.
