5. 5/21 vs South Africa, Mohali, 2015

Left-arm spinner Jadeja’s fifth-best bowling figures came against South Africa in Mohali in November 2015.

In India’s first innings, Murali Vijay’s 75-run knock helped the hosts post 201 runs. South Africa were all out for 184 runs after Ravichandran Ashwin took five wickets and Jadeja took three scalps.

India made 200 runs in their second innings and set a target of 218 runs for Proteas. While chasing, South Africa surrendered against Jadeja’s class bowling.

The left-arm spinner took a five-wicket haul, which helped India win the test by 108 runs. Jadeja was adjudged the Player of the Match for his eight wickets in the test.

4. 6/138 runs vs South Africa, Durban, 2013

Ravindra Jadeja’s fourth-best bowling figures in test cricket came during the Durban test between South Africa and India in 2013,

Batting first, India scored 334 runs, with Murali Vijay top-scoring with 97. In reply, South Africa made 500 runs after Jacques Kallis slammed 115. However, Jadeja took a six-wicket while conceding 138 runs in 58.2 overs.

India later lost the match by 10 wickets.

3. 6/63 vs Australia, Bengaluru, 2017

Indian spinner Jadeja showcased his eliteness in home conditions during the Bengaluru test match against Australia in March 2017.

Batting first, India were bundled out for 189 runs as Australian spinner Nathan Lyon took eight wickets. In reply, the visitors made 276 runs in the first innings. Jadeja bagged six wickets and ended with figures of 6/63 in 21.4 overs.

In India’s second innings, Chesteshwar Pujara played a fighting knock of 92 runs, which helped the hosts set a target of 188 runs. While chasing, Australia were all out for 112 runs and lost the match by 75 runs.

2. 7/48 vs England, Chennai, 2016

Batting first, England’s Moeen Ali played an impressive knock of 146 runs, which helped his side score 477. Jadeja bagged three wickets. In India’s first innings, middle-order batter Karun Nair slammed a triple century, which took India to 759/7.

The English batting line-up collapsed against Jadeja’s spin in their second innings. Jadeja’s seven-wicket haul helped India bundle out England for 207 runs. The hosts won the match by an innings and 75 runs.

1. 7/42 vs Australia, Delhi, 2023

Ravindra Jadeja’s best bowling figures in test cricket came during the Delhi test match against Australia in 2023. Batting first, Australia scored 263 runs while Jadeja bagged three wickets. India made 262 runs in their first innings.

In Australia’s second innings, the visitors were outclassed by Jadeja’s magical spin bowling. The left-arm spinner took seven wickets in just 12.1 overs.

Jadeja’s spell knocked out Australia for 113 runs. While chasing 115 runs, India won the match by six wickets. Ravindra Jadeja was adjudged the Player of the Match for taking 10 wickets in the match.
