Richa Ghosh to get gold-plated bat and ball by CAB for her heroics in ICC Women's Cricket World Cup 2025

The Cricket Association of Bengal will felicitate Richa Ghosh at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
The Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) will honour Indian Women’s wicket-keeper batter Richa Ghosh in a grand felicitation ceremony at the Eden Gardens on Saturday, November 8. During the ceremony, she will be presented with a gold-plated bat and ball, signed by former India captain Sourav Ganguly and former India Women pacer Jhulan Goswami.
Ghosh played a crucial role in India’s victory in ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025. At a strike rate of 133.52, she scored 235 runs in eight innings. Batting in the lower order, she helped the team to get crucial runs in the final overs in a few games.
In the final against South Africa Women at the Dr. DY Patil Sports Academy in Navi Mumbai, the 22-year-old slammed a blistering knock of 34 runs off 24 balls, helping the team to reach 298/7 in the first innings. Later, the Harmanpreet Kaur & Co. crushed South Africa Women by 52 runs to clinch the trophy.

In an official press release, CAB president Ganguly said that Ghosh is an inspiration for every young cricketer in Bengal.
“Richa has shown remarkable talent, composure, and fighting spirit on the world stage. Honouring her with this gold bat and ball is a small token of our recognition for her extraordinary contribution to Indian cricket. She is an inspiration for every young cricketer in Bengal and across the country,” Ganguly said.
Slamming 12 sixes in the tournament, Ghosh equalled Deandra Dottin’s record for most sixes in a single edition of the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup. The right-handed batter hammered a 94-run knock in the league stage clash against South Africa Women in a losing cause, which was her top score and lone fifty in the tournament.
Meanwhile, India Women won their first ICC title by winning Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025. After finishing at the fourth spot in the league stage, they defeated Australia Women in the semi-final and South Africa Women in the final.
