Rohit Sharma took a mind-blowing catch of Liton Das in the Kanpur test.
Among the most delightful scenes on a cricket field is when even the catcher is left amazed after taking a stunning catch. Such moments transpired after Rohit Sharma, the India captain, took a one-handed take at mid-off to get rid of Bangladesh batsman Liton Das in the Kanpur test match between the two Asian sides.
After days 2 and 3 were completely washed out, the 2nd IND vs BAN test resumed on day 4, Monday, at Green Park. The hosts asserted their dominance from the start.
Jasprit Bumrah and Akash Deep bowled probing spells, with the senior speedster casting Mushfiqur Rahim. Then came in Mohammed Siraj who dismissed Liton. However, a huge credit for this dismissal goes to Rohit.
The Bangladeshi keeper-batsman is someone who likes to keep the scoreboard ticking. But, Siraj built pressure on Liton with dots. The release shot finally came when Liton stepped out and looked to smash the ball over Rohit at mid-off. However, he didn’t get enough elevation.
Rohit timed his jump superbly and put his right hand right above his head, in the line of the ball that was hit really hard. The ball stuck in Rohit’s hand as the Indian captain completed an unbelievable catch. In delight, Rohit sprinted in celebration.
