After bagging deal worth 5.6 crores in IPL 2024 auction, Shubham Dubey wants to buy house for parents
Vidarbha batsman Shubham Dubey was bought by Rajasthan Royals for 5.6 crores in the IPL 2024 auction.
Rajasthan Royals placed a successful bid for Vidarbha middle-order batter Shubham Dubey as the franchise purchased him for 5.60 crores INR in the recently concluded IPL 2024 auction held in Dubai. This huge amount will bring a lot of changes in the life of Shubham, who began his journey with Vidarbha Cricket Team.
Shubham Dubey had a magnificent Syed Mushtaq Ali trophy campaign with Vidarbha and scored 221 runs in 7 innings at an outstanding average of 73.66 and strike rate of 187.28, Shubham scored one unbeaten half-century in the tournament. Dubey has now left behind all the struggle he and his family had to face for him to become a professional cricketer.
Shubham Dubey’s early struggle
Shubham Dubey while talking to Rajasthan Royals media team, revealed that his father had to do odd jobs to buy a cricket kit for him. Shubham’s father had to manage a pan (betel) shop. Dubey said, “My family couldn’t afford to buy a cricket kit but my father still got me one. But they never forced me to do something else despite our struggling financial situation.”
“My father is a modest man who took up odd jobs to support the family, right from operating a paan stall to working as a hotel manager to getting into real estate.” Shubham Dubey revealed in an emotional chat with Rajasthan Royals. Shubham will be getting his first experience of the Indian Premier League. RR will have a huge expectation from the youngster.
‘Want to buy a house’
Vidarbha star Shubham wants to buy a house for his family and give them the comfort and happiness they deserve. Dubey expressed his desire and said, “I want to give them the comfort and happiness they deserve. So, I wish to first buy a house for the family.” Shubham Dubey also said that being around Kumar Sangakkara will be a learning experience for him as he is one of the big admirers of the legendary left-hander.
Shubham Dubey credited his family for all the success he had achieved so far and said they never made him feel any sort of pressure and always kept him in a positive state of mind. Dubey also credited his twin brother for taking care of the family financially.
