Sourav Ganguly snubs India vs Pakistan, names India's biggest match of World Cup 2023

Former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly rated India vs Australia as a quality World Cup game.

While most of the fans and experts are waiting for the big business India vs Pakistan game, Former BCCI President Sourav Ganguly has other thoughts in his mind. Talking about the big World Cup game, Sourav Ganguly feels that India vs Pakistan hasn’t been a quality encounter in the recent past and he is looking forward to India’s opening game in the World Cup 2023. India will be opening their campaign in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 against Australia at Chepauk in Chennai. The World Cup is scheduled to begin on 5th October with England taking on New Zealand at Narendra Modi Cricket Stadium in Ahmedabad.

Sourav Ganguly talks about India vs Pakistan rivalry

Talking about big World Cup clashes, Former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly said, “There is a lot of hype in this match (India vs Pakistan) but the quality has not been that good for a long time because India kept on winning one-sided. Pakistan probably defeated India for the first time in the T20 World Cup in Dubai”.

Sourav Ganguly also added that India vs Australia will be a good quality game in the World Cup. He said, “India did not play well in that tournament (T20 World Cup 2021) but according to me, India vs Australia tends to be a better game in the World Cup because the quality is better”

India and Australia have produced a great encounter in the last three 50-over World Cups. In the last three World Cup meetings, India defeated Australia twice while Australia decimated India in the 2015 World Cup semifinal. The rivalry between the two has grown bigger and better in terms of quality. India has been waiting for an ICC Title win since 2013. India won their last ICC title in the 2013 as Champions Trophy under MS Dhoni’s leadership.
