Fan gifted a special sketch to Virat Kohli ahead of India's ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 opener.

Team India are currently based in Chennai and have begun their preparations for their opening game of ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 against Australia on Sunday. Indian players have participated in practice sessions on Thursday and Friday, while the fans have also attended India’s practice session at Chepauk Stadium. They have also queued up to get the tickets to witness a high-voltage clash between India and five-time world champions Australia.

Indian fans are showered with so much love wherever they travel around the world. When it comes to their own home, Indian team are received with so much admiration. Players like Virat Kohli are the most loved sportspersons, and time and again, fans have proven this with their gestures for their superstar players. A fan came to Chepauk for a ticket and met former Indian captain Virat Kohli, who gifted him a special portrait of the man himself.

Fan gifts Virat Kohli a portrait

Virat Kohli was kind enough to say thanks to the specially-abled kid who took 40+ hours to draw Virat’s portrait. Fans said, “I am Srinivas, I am here, I am from Chennai. I am studying graphic design. I came here to buy tickets, but eventually I met Virat Kohli, and he signed on. Yeah, I drew it myself; it took me 40+ hours to draw this. I was super anxious; he came straight into me.” Kohli also posed for a few pictures with him.

Virat Kohli’s fan Srinivas was happy after gifting a portrait to former Indian captain Virat Kohli and said that he felt like he was dreaming. Srinivas said, “I felt like I was dreaming. I was like, He came towards me and asked, Do you want me to sign the portrait? I was like, Yes, sir, sure, and I asked him for a picture, and he said, Sure, come, let’s take a picture. I became his fan just for his cover drive, and that cover drive made me draw this. I wish all the 15 players all the best."

Indian batter Virat Kohli has earned a huge fan-base for himself with his super consistency across formats in the game. Kohli has scored over 25,000 international runs and smashed 77 international centuries. Kohli is expected to have a good World Cup in 2023 and end ICC title wait for ICC events. Kohli was part of India's winning campaign in the 2011 World Cup played in the sub-continent and smashed a century on his debut.
