Date: November 20, 2022 - before the opening clash between hosts Qatar versus Ecuador.

Time: 17:00 local / 09:00 ET / 14:00 GMT / 01:00 (November 21) AEDT / 7:30 PM IST

Location: Al Bayt Stadium

The opening ceremony of the Qatar FIFA World Cup will take place two hours earlier before kick-off. The match will be played on 20 between host nation Qatar and Ecuador, scheduled to the kick-off of 19:00. (local time, 9:30 PM IST).  Although the event organizer later shifted the date from 21 to 20.

The singer, Dua Lipa, has disputed reports that she will perform at the ceremony. Shakira was also approached to perform, but she declined.
