Ratings: Noah Sadaoui shines in FC Goa's win over Gokulam Kerala

FC Goa beat Gokulam Kerala by a solitary goal to keep their qualification hopes alive.

In both the sides' do-or-die game, FC Goa got the better of former I-League champions Gokulam Kerala to earn the much-needed three points required to stay alive in the tournament. In a game that was seemingly going toward a draw, FC Goa scored late through Iker Guarrotxena to get all three points that were on offer. With this win, FC Goa's hopes for qualifying for the next round still remain alive, albeit depending on the results of other teams in their group.

In light of this, let us see how the players of the teams performed.

Gokulam Kerala FC

Shibinraj Kunniyil - 7.5

Had a decent game in which the goalie looked confident. Made a few good saves to keep his team alive and FC Goa’s attackers at bay. Did not have anything to do in the case of FC Goa’s goal.

Vikas Saini - 6.5

Tried his best to achieve a clean sheet. Played his part well by making a few important touches and headers in his penalty area to keep FC Goa attackers at bay.

Abdul Hakku - 5.5

Hakku made a terrible mistake toward the end to cost his team the goal that led to their defeat.  

Aminou Bouba - 7.0

The case is similar for Bouba as well. Did his best to stitch passes and create sharp forward movements. Recovered a few balls as well.

Mohammed Jasim - 7.0

Had a good game and kept the backline of Gokulam Kerala tight. 

Shilton DSilva  - 6.0

Had an average game. Stitched a few good passes to create a few good attacks.  

Farshad Noor - 6.5

Looked lively in the midfield and did his best to create a few good moves. None of them bore any fruit, however.

Julian Omar Ramos - 5.0

Was not much visible in the game. Could not contribute much in both attack and defence. 

Sreekuttan VS - 7.0

Scored a goal that was ruled offside. Looked very lively throughout the period he was on the pitch.

Samuel Mensah - 5.5

Took a shot. Should have tried to slide toward the attempt of Sourav. No other contribution.  

Sourav K - 7.5

One of the best players for Gokulam Kerala today. Created many chances and made a number of good forward runs along the wings. Almost scored once but the chance went wide by a whisker. 

Substitutes

Thahir Zaman - 7.0

Had a lively game after coming on in the second half. Made a few attacking contributions. 

Rahul Raju - 5.5

Played for around 30 minutes but was not able to impact the game much. 

Mendi - N/A

Scored a goal which was ruled offside. Although, it did seem that Saviour Gama played the forward onside while he received the cross.

FC Goa

Arshdeep Singh  - 6.5

Had a good game in which he made several saves to keep a clean sheet. This clean sheet helped his side to win the game.

Redeem Tlang - 6.5

Compared to his standards, had a subdued game. Made a few good runs forward and floated in a few crosses. 

Fares Arnout - 7.5

Arnaout played well alongside Anwar Ali to keep Gokulam Kerala’s attackers away from FC Goa’s goal.

Anwar Ali - 8.0

As usual, Anwar played a good match and looked confident throughout. He defended in a sturdy manner and was seen to be everywhere where the ball went.

Saviour Gama - 7.0

Put in a good shift in the full-back position by providing stability at the back and aiding the attack in the front.

Lenny Rodrigues - 6.0

Lenny’s game was decent today. He was not much visible but had his moments where he stitched a few good forward passes. 

Hernan Santana - 7.5

Looked lively and was one of the standout performers for FC Goa in the midfield. Aided both attack and defence of his side comprehensively.

Makan Chothe - 7.5

Another midfielder who looked lively for FC Goa today was Chothe. He showcased strong attacking prowess and made a number of good forward contributions.

Noah Sadaoui - 8.5

The best player on the pitch tonight. Took a lot of workload. Made many forward runs along the left wing. FC Goa’s goal came from the rebound of Noah's attempt.  

Iker Guarrotxena - 7.5

Scored the winner for his side. Looked decent throughout the game, especially in the Gokulam Kerala penalty area.

Brison Fernandes - 4.5

One of the underperformers for FC Goa. Was not visible in the game. Consequently, was not able to make any impact.

Substitutes

Devendra Murgaonkar - 5.0

Had a bad outing with around 25 minutes to spare.

Edu Bedia - 5.5

Compared to what he can do, today’s performance from Bedia was not up to the mark. Still, his presence was felt by Gokulam Kerala to some extent.
