Germany U-17 vs France U-17: Predicted lineup, injury news, head-to-head, telecast
The French juveniles face Germany in the U17 FIFA World Cup 2023 final
Germany U-17 had to face a stern test against Argentina U-17 to make it to the FIFA U-17 World Cup finals. Particularly Argentina’s Agustín Ruberto was proving to be a problem as big as Kylian Mbappé was for the senior side of Argentina in the 2022 FIFA World Cup finals. Ruberto completed his hattrick in the 90+7′ minute to send the tie into the penalty shootout. Germany U-17 escaped with a 4-2 penalty scorecard and now are set to face France U-17.
The France U-17 team had a test of their own against Mali U-17 side in the semi-finals. They had to come back after going behind in the 45+4′ minute by Ibrahim Diarra’s effort. The Mali U-17 team was further creating substantial problems only until VAR intervened. Right back Souleymane Sanogo was sent off with a red card. In that free kick and with a man down Mali U-17 conceded a header goal. Later, Ismail Bouneb curled one in from an edge-of-the-box free kick.
Both Under-17 sides of Germany and France have made it to ‘the final stage’ in their respective FIFA U-17 World Cup journeys. Now they are about to collide once again after meeting last in the UEFA European U-17 Championship final held back on June 2. That day, Germany’s U-17 team took home the trophy after steering home the penalty shootout in their favour after a 0-0 normal time draw.

Players to Watch
Paris Brunner (Germany U-17)
The Borussia Dortmund U-19 star is making his name in this FIFA U-17 World Cup edition. In the quarter-final stage where his nation met Spain U-17, Paris Brunner’s goal was the only difference between the two sides. Later in the semi-finals against the Argentina U-17 team, Brunner’s brace of goals helped them to make it to the penalty shootout where they ended up winning to reach the finals.
Ismail Bouneb (France U-17)
The Lille-born French attacking midfielder is turning out to be a game-changer. It was Ismail Bouneb’s solo goal of the game against Uzbekistan U-17 in the quarter-finals that helped France progress. Once again in the semi-finals against Mali U-17, Bouneb was brilliant. His free kick met the head of right-back Yvann Titi to end up in the back of the opposition net. And later he himself curled one in to give his side a 2-1 semi-final comeback win.

Injury & Team News
Injury has taken its toll on two of the Under 17 players from Germany competing in this FIFA U-17 World Cup. The German head coach Christian Wück will have to do without the flair of Forzan Assan Ouedraogo and Bence Dardai in this final. Both Ouedraogo and Dardai featured in the UEFA European Under-17 Championship final and ended up grabbing the gold medal.
From the camp of the France U-17 national football team no bad news at the time of writing. They don’t even have any player on the course of serving a suspension in this finale. Coach Jean-Luc Vannuchi is expected to go with a similar lineup and maybe a different tactical approach that he chose against Mali U-17 in the semi-finals.

Match Prediction for Germany U-17 vs France U-17
Going by the defensive records of each side in their respective last 3 outings, we have seen France U-17 concede just once. On the other hand, Germany U-17 have let in 5 goals during the same period. Many times we have seen finals to be a close compact game decided by a goal or two. This good defensive showing by France U-17 could give them an upper hand.
Also given the additional fire to seek revenge after losing to the German side in the UEFA European U-17 Championship finals, it might just be the day when France U-17 has the last laugh.
Prediction: Germany U-17 1-2 France U-17
