Senegal head coach Aliou Cisse unpaid in last 6 months ahead of AFCON 2023: Report

Aliou Cisse led Senegal to AFCON 2021 glory
According to news from Sports News Africa, Senegal’s head coach Aliou Cisse has not received salary for the last six months. They added that half of his staff is in the same situation. He should be paid €30,000 per month.
“If he experienced such a situation at the start of his appointment on the Lions bench, the coach thought that this type of fact was now forgotten. But, he and his entire technical staff do not believe it since last June, no payment of their salary has been noted. However, if they are aware that the salary is of a nutritional nature, Aliou Cissé would have done everything to nip this information in the bud so that it does not leak out just a stone’s throw from the 34th biennial of African football.”
This difficult choice seems to betray the man with the dreadlocks, who is not alone in this situation since all the members of his technical staff are brooding for not having collected a single kopeck during all this time,” writes the site.

AFCON 2023 will begin in mid-January and continue for a period of one month. Players will leave their clubs and represent their clubs at the continental level.
Senegal are tied in Group C along with Cameroon, Gambia and Guinea. The team led by Sadio Mane will be one of the favourites to win the championship.
Cisse will hope that his team plays well and reach the last stages of the tournament. More prize money will be helpful for the nation to pay all the pending salaries.
