Premier League sides meet in the Carabao Cup semi-final leg 1
The cup football action continues as the English clubs prepare to battle it out in the Semi-finals of the Carabao Cup. Liverpool are set to host Fulham at Anfield in the first leg of the tie.
Liverpool are in hot red form. They will be going into the fixture on the back of their emphatic 2-0 victory against Arsenal in the FA Cup. A similar fate saw Fulham go all the way through to the fourth round of the FA Cup after beating Rotherham 1-0.
Now, these sides are all set to lock horns against each other, aiming to go through to the finale of the Carabao Cup.
Kick-off
Wednesday, 10th January 2024, 8:00 PM GMT
Thursday, 11th January 2024, 1:30 AM IST
Location: Anfield
Form
Liverpool (in all comps): W-D-W-W-W
Fulham (in all comps): W-L-L-W-W
Players to watch for
Diogo Jota (Liverpool)
Since his return from injury, he has been key for the Reds off the bench. In both games, against Newcastle and Arsenal, Diogo Jota registered an assist and looked more than fit to get a start. After Mohamed Salah, the Portuguese forward has the most goal contributions for Liverpool.
Raul Jiminez (Fulham)
Raul Jiminez has slowly started to find his feet again. He has been leading scoring goal-scoring plays for Fulham, scoring 4 goals in the last 4 games. Marco Silva will be quite pleased to see his striker’s run of form and will hope for more of the same against Liverpool.
Match fact
- In the last 11 fixtures between the two sides in all competitions, Fulham have only managed to edge out a single victory against Liverpool. That too, dates back to 2021.

Injury and team news
No new injury updates for Liverpool after the Arsenal victory, bar one. Virgil Van Dijk was sent home by Jurgen Klopp owing to ‘illness’. The manager has not given any other details on it, so there is a belief that the Dutchman can start against Fulham.
Endo and Salah are on international duty in the Asian Cup and AFCON respectively. Thiago, Bajcetic, Robertson, Szoboszlai and Tsimikas are making progress but the Fulham game might come too soon for them.
As for Marco Silva’s side, Tyrese Francois, Willian and Steven Benda, all made a return against Rotherham. But there remains a lingering doubt over the availability of Tim Ream and Adama Traore. The rest look all good in the away camp, so far.

Match prediction for Liverpool vs Fulham
Liverpool look set to win this one, especially with their form. But take nothing away from Fulham, for they pose a threat to topple sides on the counter. But we predict a victory for the home side.
