Only one EFL Championship team remains in the competition
The EFL Cup 2023-24 has reached the semi-final stage of the competition. Only four teams remain in the domestic cup. These four teams will play a two-legged semi and the winner will advance to the finals.
EFL Championship side Middlesbrough will face Premier League giants Chelsea. Michael Carrick’s side will look to create an upset.
Liverpool face league rival Fulham in their match. The Reds will be without their key player Mo Salah. However, a win over Arsenal in the FA Cup will be a huge boost for Klopp’s young squad.
Liverpool are the most successful club with nine titles. They last won the EFL Cup in the 2021-22 season. Chelsea have won this cup five times and their most recent victory came in the 2014-15 season. Boro also won this cup way back in the 2003-04 season.
Jurgen Klopp’s men and Pichettino’s Chelsea are the favourites to make it to the finals. Boro and Fulham will look to create an upset in the two legs that they play in the semi-final round.
