When will Mohammed Kudus be back for West Ham from AFCON 2023?
Kudus will represent Ivory Coast at AFCON
Mohammed Kudus is scheduled to miss some important West Ham games as he prepares to fly to the Ivory Coast to represent Ghana in the African Cup of Nations.
The 23-year-old Ghanaian striker, who joined the Hammers from Ajax this season, has performed admirably. In 27 games in every league this season, Kudus has 13 goals and 2 assists.
The Hammers’ sniper will be away in the Ivory Coast for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, so he won’t be available until early in 2024. The dynamic attacker’s absence might harm David Moyes’ team, who are competing for a top-6 Premier League berth as well as FA Cup play.
How many games will Mohammed Kudus miss?
Kudus’s absence from West Ham matches will vary based on Ghana’s performance in the league.
Nevertheless, Kudus was unable to play in the Premier League match against Brighton & Hove Albion, therefore he had previously missed his first West Ham match because of his international commitments.

Disgruntled West Ham manager David Moyes was expecting the 23-year-old to come to camp on Tuesday, the day of the Brighton match after the Ghana FA asked for his return for a pre-tournament camp.
On January 14, the African Cup of Nations (AFCON) is set to begin in Ivory Coast. Ghana was placed in Group B alongside Cape Verde, Egypt, and Mozambique. On January 14, the Black Stars play Cape Verde; on January 18, they play Egypt; and on January 22, they play Mozambique.
This implies that if Ghana unexpectedly fails to advance past the group stages, the dynamic winger is certain to miss a minimum of three West Ham games. He may make a comeback for their home match against Bournemouth on February 1.
That’s doubtful, though, considering that the four-time AFCON winners have only lost in the AFCON group stages twice before 2006, and that was in what was perhaps their poorest performance in the African showcase.
The worst-case situation for West Ham: the attacker could miss up to seven actions for the East London team if Kudus’ Ghana reach the AFCON final, which is scheduled for February 11 at the Olympic Stadium of Ebimpe, and West Ham survives the FA Cup after the third round.
