West Ham injury update ahead of FA Cup match against Bristol City; Michael Antonio out for further 4–6 weeks
The Hammers are set to be without Lucas Paqueta for months with a fresh injury
Lucas Paqueta, playmaker for West Ham, may miss a maximum of two months of action after suffering an injury in Sunday’s FA Cup.
Due to an ankle injury, Jarrod Bowen might not be able to return to action until early February. Michael Antonio re-injured his knee while training, and it is anticipated that he will miss a further 4–6 weeks.
Following a knee injury sustained in the Hammers’ 2-0 victory over Arsenal shortly after Christmas, Paqueta was sidelined for the team’s 0-0 draw with Brighton at the beginning of the month.
The Brazilian resumed training this week, and David Moyes used him in a strong lineup for the match against Bristol City, knowing that a replay would cut into his team’s two-week midway vacation. The goal was to guarantee a smooth transition into the next round.

Within five minutes, Paqueta provided a brilliant assist for Jarrod Bowen’s first goal, helping West Ham get out to a fast start.
However, he tumbled down off the ball shortly after, clutching his left knee, and Divin Mubama, a teenage striker, took his place.
Mohammed Kudus, who is playing for Ghana at the Africa Cup of Nations, and Michail Antonio, who has remained out until November due to a knee injury, are already absent for Moyes.
In the first half of West Ham’s match against Bristol City, defender Konstantinos Mavropanos additionally sustained an injury after he fell awkwardly following a shoddy challenge in overhead by Tommy Conway.
Conversely, West Ham can find themselves compelled to enter the market in an attempt to increase their offensive capabilities.
Though earlier this month, Moyes acknowledged that money will be limited during the window, saying, “I don’t think we’ll have much money to spend.” Depending on the outgoings, that is.
