FC Goa have taken necessary steps and informed the ISL organizers of the same.

In a startling turn of events, just a day before FC Goa‘s crucial away fixture against Mumbai City FC in the Indian Super League season, the team analyst of the host team was allegedly caught spying on FC Goa during their pre-match training session in Mumbai. A source close to the development revealed that FC Goa’s staff apprehended the individual in question, prompting the club to file an official complaint with the league organizers, Khel Now can exclusively confirm.

Speaking to Khel Now, the source from FC Goa disclosed, “Mumbai City FC had sent spies to our Matchday-1 training session in Mumbai. A member of MCFC was seen recording our training session and then got caught by us. We have filed a complaint with the league organizers.”

Manolo Marquez upset about the situation

Manolo Marquez, the head coach of FC Goa, was notably disturbed by the unfolding circumstances, and his discontent boiled over during the pre-match press conference. When questioned for details regarding team news and injury updates by members of the press, Marquez retorted sharply, stating, “Ask the photographer (Mumbai City Analyst), who was in the… recording our training session.”

The League is at it’s crucial juncture at the moment as both the teams are currently contesting for ISL Shield. The result of this fixture will determine who goes on to win the ISL Shield. 5th placed FC Goa are currently on a 3 game losing streak whereas 2nd placed Petr Kratky’s side are on a 3 game winning streak. A win for FC Goa will mean they’ll be level on points with Mumbai City FC whereas a win by Mumbai City FC will ensure 2 points lead over Odisha FC at the top of the table.

Mumbai City FC’s refusal for comment

Khel Now on its part seeked clarification from Mumbai City FC on the whole episode but the club refused to make a comment. Both the teams will face off against each other on Wednesday evening at the Mumbai Football Arena.
