Following a positive androgen test earlier this year, Paul Pogba will appear before Italy’s anti-doping court on January 18, according to reports released by the Italian press on Tuesday.
After the proceedings at the NADO tribunal in Rome, the midfield player for Juventus and former Manchester United could be facing a lengthy suspension.
Inquiries for verification of the court date received no response from the tribunal or Pogba’s counsel.
Following his temporary ban in September, Paul Pogba was recommended for a four-year penalty by anti-doping authorities this past week.
If Paul Pogba can show that he did not do drugs on purpose, his desired ban might be cut in half. On the other hand, if he can show that the banned drug was taken out of competition and had no effect on the way he performed, his suspension could be reduced to a few months.
