ISL 2024-2025: Top five Indian players from matchweek 22

A list featuring some of the best Indian players in ISL like Liston Colaco and Udanta Singh.
With the conclusion of match week 22 of the Indian Super League (ISL), Indian players stepped up for their teams as they fought for the coveted top-six spots. The games across the match week witnessed some fantastic performances from homegrown players, who proved their growing influence within their respective teams.
From game-changing attacking contributions to last-ditch defensive stops, these players have left their mark on the latest round of fixtures. With teams fast approaching the ISL playoffs, the performances of these players are promising signs as they battle it out for the ISL title.
Here’s a look at the top five Indian performers from matchweek 22.
5. Thoi Singh Huidrom (NorthEast United FC)
The 20-year-old stepped up for NorthEast United FC with a superb performance on the right wing against Jamshedpur FC. Singh showed his quality against the Red Miners with constant attacking runs and looked threatening throughout the evening.
He played an instrumental role in opening the scoring for the Highlanders. Singh beat Jamshedpur’s high-line defence with a well-timed run before supplying a superb low cross for Alaeddine Ajaraie to tap home. While it was only his 10th appearance of the season, Singh proved he could be a dangerous player when he is in form.
4. Rahim Ali (Odisha FC)
The Odisha FC right-back was one of the standout players against Hyderabad FC and showed his quality defensively and in attack. Ali kept things tight in Odisha’s defense and made essential tackles throughout the night.
He added a crucial third goal to settle the game in the 70th minute following a lung-busting run on the right and finishing with a powerful shot from a very tight angle. Ali recorded his second goal of the campaign and proved why he should be one of the first names on the team sheet.

3. Naorem Mahesh Singh (East Bengal FC)

Mahesh Singh was instrumental in the East Bengal FC attack, scoring a crucial goal against Mohammedan SC. The 25-year-old was able to find space and finish clinically to record his first goal of the season.
He opened the scoring for the Torchbearers in the 27th minute with a fantastic run into the box and beating the goalkeeper at the near post. Despite East Bengal FC’s struggles this season, Singh’s performance will be an encouraging sight for sore eyes as they continue to show signs of life towards the business end of the season.
2. Udanta Singh (FC Goa)
The Gaurs winger was on fire against the defending champions and dropped a match-winning performance on the right flank. The 28-year-old winger turned provider for Iker Guarrotxena’s second goal as it helped Goa get some breathing room.
Udanta continues to be an essential player for FC Goa head coach Manolo Marquez and with recent performances. With three goals and two assists in 14 games, Singh will be a vital player for his side ahead of the ISL playoffs.
1. Liston Colaco (Mohun Bagan Super Giant)

The Mohun Bagan winger has been a key figure for Jose Molina’s side this season, and he once again delivered against Kerala Blasters FC. The forward was instrumental for his side as he assisted Jamie Maclaren to open the scoring for the Mariners.
Colaco has been a significant player within the lethal attacking Mohun Bagan unit and continues to impress ahead of the ISL playoffs. Having made 21 appearances for the Mariners this season, he has contributed with four goals and an assist.
