The Spaniard was happy with the result and took pride in his team's performance on the night.
FC Goa sneaked out with a draw against Bengaluru FC after Ferran Corominas converted a spot-kick in injury-time, thereby levelling the scores. Earlier, Udanta Singh had handed BFC the lead in the 62nd minute of the game. The Gaurs' head coach Sergio Lobera spoke to the media after the conclusion of the match.
On The Late EqualizerWhen asked whether he was content with a late equalizer, Lobera said, “I am not happy because I always want three points. But, when you cannot get three points, it is good to not lose the match. Today, one point before the match wouldn’t have been good, but if you saw the match I think it is good to end 1-1.”
[KH_ADWORDS type="3" align="center"][/KH_ADWORDS]He was also probed about whether he felt lucky to end the game with one point to the team’s name, regarding which the Spaniard remarked, “I don’t think we were lucky. I think Bengaluru did not have very clear chances, while we had some. A penalty was possible there with Jacki.”
Assesment Of The Game
He further reflected back on the game and stated, “Today, the big problem for us was that we didn’t have the ball possession. We didn’t recover the ball as a team. There was a long distance between the lines and hence it is pretty difficult to arrive to the goal."
“When you recover the ball near the goal, it is easier that way and as a coach I want to have all the squad. It is not because some players are not working. It is too much in a short time and some players are tired. I am very proud with the players who played today.”
Change In Midfield
Sergio Lobera was also questioned about the rather indifferent performance of the team’s midfield, to which he responded, “Oh, I think all teams play with 100% of the possibilities, not just one player or one position. I think the problems that we faced in the first half is present with all the teams and not just one.”
Chances In The GameHe was also quizzed about whether the team could have done anything differently in the game, to which Lobera firstly replied with just a “No!” But, he further emphasized, “I think today was a very difficult match, against Bengaluru FC and it was also a big chance for us.
“But, in this circumstance, I am happy with the work of the players and the result. Obviously, I want three points, but today was a very difficult match and I think one point is good for us.”

The coach remarked, “There were options, but when we were playing at home I needed one man on the bench for the midfield; Lenny or Jacki. I think Manvir performed very well in the last match and Jacki too. So, I used Corominas as an attacking midfielder and Manvir in front of him.
“Jacki is a good option, but during the match I could use him better in the second half. I have to use my options as a coach. Today, the best options were to play with Lenny, Manvir and Coro in the situation," concluded Sergio Lobera.
FC Goa will now face NorthEast United FC away from home on Friday.
