Marco Leite: It was probably the worst game we played this season

The assistant coach admitted his side failed to score from the opportunities they had.
Mumbai City FC suffered their second consecutive defeat in the Kalinga Stadium. Odisha FC notched a 2-0 victory as Aridane Santana and Xisco Hernandez scored a goal each to hand the Islanders their first loss in an away game this season. Assistant coach Marco Leite addressed the media personnel after the match. He was asked about his overall thoughts on the game and Marco Leite said, “One thing is sure, that was in our opinion not a good game for us. It was probably the worst game we played this season. It’s true that in the first half we created some chances, also, Odisha created some chances." [KH_ADWORDS type="4" align="center"][/KH_ADWORDS] "But it’s been like this every game we play and every game often we lost. We create lot of chances but we cannot score. In the second half things changed a little bit. Also, the pitch didn’t help but it was the same for Odisha as well." “But it’s clearly in our opinion that the team was slow, it was predictable, couldn't put the ball running fast and we created the chances that we create, we must score. If we do not score, we are more close to lose. But it was what happened tonight; and nothing much to say about this game." "This is a game that we were thinking of winning three points to Mumbai. But it was not possible. We have six more games and we will fight for the top four. We will see what happen, we will see what happen," added Marco Leite. He further said, “We will continue to work like we did till now. The team works very good everyday, we have nothing to say about this to the players. Because they train very well. There are times when we play very well but we don’t score like three matches before. And there are times when we play really bad, like tonight in my opinion and nothing to say!" Of course, we are sad. We are sad because of this but the only thing we can make now is continue to fight, continue to train and dedicate all our effort to in the four in the end of the championship.
