Josep Gombau: The motto of Odisha FC is to develop young players
The 43-year-old tactician also mentioned that he feels the first game of the season will be difficult.
The top brass of Odisha FC, including head coach Josep Gombau accompanied by captain Marcos Tebar and Narayan Das met the media in a press conference ahead of Tuesday's game against Jamshedpur FC.
Having shifted base from Delhi as part of the Delhi Dynamos squad, the trio replied to questions ranging from the shift of base to tactics and the players in the squad.
Josep Gombau sounded optimistic when talking about the objectives of his team and praised the quality the squad he possesses.
[KH_ADWORDS type="3" align="center"][/KH_ADWORDS]"It is pretty much the same team from Delhi. It is a competitive team with good players. Josep Gombau made his praise evident of the facilities on provision in Bhubaneswar and also spoke about the football culture in the new surroundings.
On Facing Jamshedpur FC
The Spanish tactician was well-rounded in his assessment of the campaign opener as he said, "The first game is always difficult because we don't know how the opposition will play. But, we are clear in how we want to go about things and have trained well towards executing our plans for tomorrow."
The 43-year-old tactician was profuse in his praise of the Indian players in the squad, lauding their commitment and desire. He predicted great futures for everyone claiming that, "It is in the motto of the club to develop young Indian players."
Narayan Das

"We will do our talking on the pitch because that is where it all matters. The team is ready to play and we want to perform on the pitch like the coach wants us to," Das added.
It can be a daunting prospect to lead a new franchise in a competitive league, that too as the captain, but Marcos Tebar made it clear that he is more than ready to do the job. "I think it's a great responsibility and I am not fazed by it. We have a good team and we are confident this season in winning and scoring goals," Tebar said.
