Manchester City's Kevin de Bruyne suffers knee injury during training, extent unknown
Last season, the Belgian provided 21 assists and scored 12 goals.
It is being widely reported that Manchester City's Kevin de Bruyne has suffered a right knee injury in training on Wednesday. He is currently having tests to evaluate the injury and its extent. According to his club, the extent of his injury is "not yet known."
In 2016, the Belgian missed 12 games due to an injury on his right knee suffered during an EFL Cup semi-final victory over Everton.
The 27-year-old was his club's Player of the Season last term. He scored 12 goals and provided 21 assists, en route to his side winning the Premier League and EFL Cup. The City Group-owned outfit began their title defence with a 2-0 victory over Arsenal and will next play Huddersfield Town at home on Sunday. After that, they face Wolverhampton Wanderers away, and then Newcastle at home, before the international break. After the break, City will then face Fulham at home.

With the former Chelsea midfielder playing a pivotal role last season, City broke many records including reaching 100 points, winning 32 matches and scoring 106 goals.

Kevin de Bruyne appeared for Belgium during this year's FIFA World Cup in Russia, as his team finished in third position, losing to France in the semi-finals. Till date, the playmaker has made 98 appearances for City, slowly becoming the heartbeat of the side.
