Ruthless Lajong youngsters return to the top of the Gionee Shillong Premier League table after they oust Langsning FC 5-2.

Lajong’s Mizo youngsters run riot as Muana hits a hat trick while Samuela and Isaac got a goal apiece in a high scoring match against Langsning FC. Langsning’s Ronnie Nongbri got a goal apiece in each half but his two superbly taken goals that would easily have been match winners in any other match was not enough for Langsning FC. ..
Lajong got off to a fine start and got a deserved lead in the 5th minute courtesy of young striker Mauna who had an easy tap in from a fine pass by compatriot Samuela. Langsning was a church mouse who had to settle for the scrapes in the first half hour of the game. They however got back into the game when Ronnie Nongbri scored a beauty from outside of them box giving Langsning the equaliser virtually out of nothing. Lajong youngster however, weren’t dented and they pressed on to get their lead back.Muana celebrates after completing his hat trick ..
Lajong were denied what looked like a clear penalty minutes later as Sandeep was pulled down inside the box by a Langsning defender. The referee and the linesman however didn’t notice and Langsning could breathe in relief but not for long. Isaac who had been a constant threat to the Langsning side laid a beautiful cross for Bipin Singh in the 43rd minute; Bipin who was instrumental in the first goal then headed the ball across the mouth of the goal and Muana had another easy finish for his second of the game.
Lajong were dominant once again in the second half and Muana got his hat trick in the 56th minute when he headed home a cross from Samuela. He could have had his 4th of the game minutes later but he wasn’t able to get any contact on Isaac’s cross. The duo then played some great football again and Muana put one on the plate for Isaac but he skewed his shot terribly wide.

Ronnie Nongbri came to the rescue again for Langsning in the 78th minute as he whipped in a wonderful free kick from the D box but it couldn’t breathe in life to the Langsning side. Samuela gave Lajong back their two goal cushion just two minutes when his shot took a wicked deflection off a Langsning defender and looped over the goalkeeper before nestling kindly into the net for Lajong. Isaac netted the 5th for Lajong as he let loose a low drilled shot into the bottom corner to complete the rout.
Brazilian does the samba dance, Europeans dab but the triple trouble lads from Mizoram just have their own swagger moves.
Being in the right place at the right time, picking up the right passes and making incisive runs in between the defenders; it was all there in Lajong’s match today and it’s no wonder they are undefeated in the Gionee Shillong Premier League this season. Hopefully this will be the benchmark for the Lajong youngsters for their performances in the other half of the season.
