Transfer Talk: Coutinho to replace Hazard? Pogba to PSG?
We bring you the latest on Neymar, Bale, Manchester United, Arsenal, Chelsea, De Ligt and others.
The transfer season has just begun and it has already seen a massive spending from some of the top clubs. Big money moves of players and managers have happened and they are not going to stop anytime soon with clubs like Real Madrid, Manchester United, Juventus, Bayern Munich and Paris St. Germain still in the market for players.
We take a look at some of the most interesting transfer rumours we came across.
Presnel Kimpembe to leave PSG?
French centre-back Presnel Kimpembe should be on his way to Emirates Stadium, following his former coach Unai Emery. Emery is said to be very close to the defender and his family, and if reports are to be believed, he'll persuade Kimpembe and his father to force a move out of Paris.
Arsenal has been long in search of a quality centre-back, and the performances of Shkodran Mustafi and others have made the move an imperative one.
Targett targeted by Liverpool
Matt Targett is said to be frustrated with having to be the understudy of Ryan Bertrand at Southampton and would look to join a team that would promise him more game time.
Targett could well be yet another player to leave Southampton for Liverpool, the Daily Star reports. Although the catch is that Arsenal is also chasing the Saints defender.
Derby want "an offer they can't refuse"
Chelsea is looking to replace Maurizio Sarri with Frank Lampard after the former Napoli tactician chose to rejoin Serie A. Sarri left Chelsea after a mixed season with the Blues. He won the Stamford Bridge faithful Europa League but failed to impress them with Chelsea delivering uncertain and inconsistent performances under him.
But Lampard's move could not be possible if Chelsea fails to meet Derby's expected value of the former Blues midfielder.
De Ligt saga never wishes to end
PSG are now favourites to sign the Dutch sensation
The latest club to be rumoured to be close to signing the Dutch 19-year-old defender Matthijs de Ligt is Juventus. According to Tuttosport, the Ajax captain is about to sign with Juventus, if things don't go wrong like every other previous move of his.
Juventus vice-president Paul Nedved and sporting director Fabio Paratici have taken the De Ligt operation in their hands. De Ligt has already been reported to have snubbed moves to Barcelona, Manchester United and Paris St. Germain.
Pogba to PSG?
Could the French return to home comforts?
Paul Pogba has been for a long time linked with a move to Real Madrid. The French world cup winner has come out in open to speak his desires of 'new challenges'. But Los Blancos are reluctant to pay the huge price and/or salary that could see him disrupt the wage structure of Santiago Bernabeu.
Paris St. Germain are looking for a midfielder who could replace Adrien Rabiot and Paul Pogba would be a definite upgrade of Rabiot if he joins. The Independent claims PSG to be interested to bring Pogba to Ligue 1.
From Chile to China?
Is the Chilean bound for Asia?
Arturo Vidal is said to be contemplating his future at Barcelona after the Blaugrana have seen their already competitive midfield stack-up even more. Moreover, Vidal is offered a way out by an unnamed Chinese club.
The 32-year-old is reported by Mundo Deportivo to have an offer on the table. The move would see him call it an end to his one year stay at Camp Nou.
Gareth Bale is not joining Bayern
The winger has struggled for regular football in the Spanish capital
Gareth Bale is said to be out of the plans of Zinedine Zidane for the upcoming season. The Welsh winger has been for a long time out of favour and Real Madrid is looking to offload him to free off the burden of his high wages.
Gareth Bale was rumoured to be joining Bayern Munich, who have seen their two wingers Arjen Robben and Frank Ribery call it a day to their Bayern stay. But the agent of Bale has ridiculed the rumours of him joining Bayern.
Neymar to be the next-Ronaldo?
Could PSG offload the Brazilian?
Neymar has been criticised heavily for his off the field controversies and for his superstar behaviour. Paul Pogba is looking for a way out of Manchester. PSG wants Pogba, Neymar could well be offloaded.
Neymar could well join Manchester United if the reports are to be believed. Sport claims that the Brazilian has a fair chance of donning the United jersey next season.
Maddison likes to keep mum
The midfielder is a target for several top domestic clubs
Leicester City's James Maddison wants to remain silent after getting linked with a move to Old Trafford just after his first season with Leicester City.
James Maddison contributed seven goals and seven assists while also created 100 goal scoring chances in the Premier League. The Leicester City player earned huge plaudits and is now said to be on Solksjaer's wishlist.
