Top 10 transfers that could happen this Summer
It is expected to be another busy transfer window on activity with many players on the move.
Since the football action is almost over for the season gone by, the transfer window is approaching fast. Various football clubs all across are in full flow trying to make their acquisitions as early as possible in preparation for the new upcoming season of football.
This is the time where rumours, speculations and acquisitions dominate the day-to-day news headlines and the fans are eager to witness their clubs completing the new signing.
There are many individual players who will be courted by different clubs in order to either strengthen their squads, or fill in the weak areas. Transfer sagas and clubs battling each other for the signatures regarding some top talents are experienced and such is the case this time around as well.
Therefore, we have picked the top 10 transfers that could happen in the summer transfer window prior to the beginning of the 2019-20 season.
10. Joao Cancelo to Manchester City
Several reports coming out of Italy have revealed that Manchester City are on the verge of signing Joao Cancelo from Juventus. Some of the reliable sources have backed the authenticity of this move and are reporting that the move will cost the English champions a total of €60 million.
With Kyle Walker already in the roster, this signing will be seen as an attempt at further strengthening the squad that already has incredible depth. The 24-year-old fits well according to the tactics employed by Pep Guardiola, where his quality with crosses and quick tracking back traits will certainly be a threat for any opposition. It might also signal the end of Danilo's stay at the club who will be surplus to needs if the Portuguese makes the move to Manchester.
9. Tanguy Ndombele to Paris Saint-Germain
The French international has had a breakthrough season and has been under the radar of many elite clubs across Europe. Tanguy Ndombele has featured heavily for his side Olympique Lyonnais in the heart of the midfield and has impressed with his work rate. He is a box-to-box midfielder who has the tenacity to make interceptions and a passing vision to match during turnovers.
Being one of the most complete midfielders out there, the 22-year-old is in high demand. However, recent reports have emerged stating that, Paris Saint-Germain are leading the race to land the player. Their league dominance and the financial strength make PSG favourites to Ndombele’s signature.
8. Paulo Dybala to Manchester United
Manchester United are in for a squad overhaul in preparation for the next season after enduring their worst domestic league campaign since 2013, finishing in the sixth position. The gaffer, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, had pointed out that there will be personnel changes as the current squad was not good enough to challenge for the title next season. One of the many names that have been linked to a move to MUFC, Paulo Dybala seems to be the most likely.
The Argentine had an unimpressive season at Juventus, having played in an unnatural position due to the arrival of Cristiano Ronaldo. Moreover, his agent had also suggested that the 25-year-old needs a change and will be leaving Turin. Manchester United were reportedly ready to meet Juventus’ demand of £86 million for the attacker and the move seems inevitable considering the player wants to leave.
7. Romelu Lukaku to Inter Milan
After having a positive first season at Manchester united, Romelu Lukaku had a disappointing second season and has become second fiddle to Marcus Rashford in the starting lineup. Constantly at the end of criticism by the fans for his lack of finesse in the build up, the striker has cut a frustrated figure on the sidelines.
Underperforming in big games has not gone well with the Manchester United fans
Reports from Italy have suggested that Inter Milan have made Lukaku their main target as a replacement to Mauro Icardi, whose relationship with the club has worsened in recent times. The 26-year-old also expressed his desire to play in the Serie A in an interview a few days ago. While MUFC have valued Lukaku at €80 million, Inter have reportedly tabled an offer in the region of €30m + Ivan Perisic.

6. Adrien Rabiot to Atletico Madrid / Manchester United
Adrien Rabiot will be available on a free transfer in the upcoming transfer window after his current contract at PSG expires. The two clubs that have emerged favorites to land the central midfielder are Atletico Madrid and Manchester United.
Diego Simeone is looking towards the 24-year-old as an option to fill the gap that will emerge after the potential departure of Thomas Partey, who is being courted by several clubs with a release clause of €45m. On the other hand, the Red Devils are in search of a replacement for their midfielder, Ander Herrera, who is leaving the club, and Rabiot apparently fits the bill perfectly.
5. Leroy Sane - FC Bayern Munich
Bayern Munich are heading into a new era after their two long-serving stalwarts, Franck Ribery and Arjen Robben ended their terms at the club. Now on the lookout of new wingers, the name of Leroy Sane has been doing the rounds, according to reports.
The German midfielder is an exceptional talent
The German has Bundesliga experience after making a name for himself at Schalke 04 before securing a move to Manchester City. The lure of regular first-team football can entice the 23-year-old to make the move back to the German top-flight. Sane is now third in the pecking order in Pep Guardiola's plans behind Raheem Sterling and Bernardo Silva.
4. Hakim Ziyech to Arsenal FC
Unai Emery has done a decent job in his first season as the manager at Arsenal but faces a tougher challenge going forward. The lack of budget will prove as an obstacle for the Spaniard in signing the players that are to his liking. However, there a few cheap options available in the market which could be considered and at the top of that pile is Hakim Ziyech of AFC Ajax.
Apparently, a move to Arsenal is a “dream move” for the 26-year-old who is also a fan of Mesut Ozil. A cut-price tag of £25 million would also fit well in the limited budget and the player would fit right in the starting lineup in either of the wings.
3. Antoine Griezmann to FC Barcelona
For the last couple of seasons, Antoine Griezmann has been flirting with the idea of joining Barcelona, however, the move never materialised. Although, the Frenchman has yet again stoked more fire into this transfer saga by releasing a video confirming that he will be leaving Atletico Madrid at the end of the campaign.
Many reports had emerged outside of Spain a few weeks ago which stated that FC Barcelona have decided to meet the 28-year-old’s release clause of €125 million. This could mean that either Ousmane Dembele or Phillipe Coutinho could be departing the Camp Nou to make way for the 2018 World Cup winner.

2. Eden Hazard to Real Madrid
One of the longest stretched out transfer sagas of recent times has to be Eden Hazard’s transfer to Real Madrid. The apparent transfer is now closer than ever with the player announcing that he has made his decision and told the owners about it. Many reports have backed that Real Madrid are going to announce Hazard’s acquisition after the Europa League final.
The move is speculated to fetch Chelsea a total of £85 million for their star-player. The 28-year-old is expected to fill the gap left by Cristiano Ronaldo at Madrid and will spearhead the revival of the Galacticos under the leadership of Zinedine Zidane.
1. Matthijs de Ligt to FC Barcelona / Juventus
[KH_RELATED_NEWS title="Related News"][/KH_RELATED_NEWS]One of the riding forces behind AFC Ajax this term was their captain, Matthijs de Ligt. Only 19-years-old, the center-back has been attracting attention from the biggest clubs in the world. He is yet another figure who has been confirmed to be leaving Ajax in the summer transfer window.
Barcelona are favorites to land him but face stiff competition from Juventus and a few other clubs from England as well. His price tag is in the region of £60 million but the increased agent fees is tipping Barcelona off from completing the signing. Although, the player has expressed his desire to keep playing alongside his Ajax teammate, Frenkie de Jong who will be joining the Catalans after agreeing a move earlier this year.
