The Pune manager was downbeat after the lost to the Highlanders…
FC Pune City lost both games against NorthEast this season in the Indian Super League, losing both home and away games with the same margin of 1-0. After the away match in Guwahati on Tuesday, Stallions head coach Antonio Habas looked visibly upset with the loss and could not conceal his emotions while facing the press after the match. “We played well in the beginning, after that both the teams had 2-3 chances. Finally NorthEast won, but inside the pitch something happened that we are not happy about,” said Habas referring to the on-pitch drama just before the end of the first half that resulted in Mohamed Sissoko getting a yellow for the conflict with NEUFC players and verbal exchanges between players from both teams. When asked whether he thinks the hosts dominated the second half in comparison to the action packed first half. He refuted the notion. “NorthEast were the same in both halves, I don’t know about which game you talked about, I think we played well, but a good chance and they win, but I am not happy with something during the game, you are planning this league from the last three years and you have to be very careful in such matters. Good tackles and strong tackles are different things; sometimes it’s very hard to differentiate a tackle. The game was very close, but we lost. I accept the defeat.” Photo © ISL MediaReport by Himangshu Rajkhowa- Khel Now Correspondent from Guwahati.
