Top five teams with the most goals in a single Premier League season

Manchester City has managed to breach the 100 goal mark thrice in the competition.
The English Premier League is arguably the most competitive league in Europe. Take the current season as an example. Second-placed Liverpool is just a point behind Manchester City while the battle for a Champions League spot and the relegation battle is intense.
The Premier League is a tough place to score goals. However, there have been some seasons where teams have found it easier to score. In this article, we take a look at the top five teams with the most goals in a single Premier League season.
5. Liverpool 2013/14 season - 101 goals
It was a season of mixed emotions for the Reds as they led the league until the infamous Steven Gerrard slip. They ended the season with 101 goals in the league which is the highest number of goals scored by a Premier League runner-up. Luis Suarez was in superb form as he managed to score 31 goals and Daniel Sturridge also followed him with 21 goals.
4. Manchester City 2013/14 - 102 goals
Manchester City feature three times on this list thanks to the stunning firepower they have possessed over the past decade. They scored a goal more than Liverpool with 102 and finished two points ahead of the Reds to win the league. They had three different players score more than 15 goals each in the Premier League as Yaya Toure, Sergio Aguero and Edin Dzeko ran riot.
3. Manchester City 2019/20 - 102 goals
Manchester City again finds a place on this\list for their goalscoring exploits. They scored 102 goals again. However, this time they finished second to Liverpool. Raheem Sterling was the team’s top scorer as he racked up 20 goals in the Premier League and Aguero was second with 16.
2. Chelsea 2009/10 - 103 goals
It was their first season under new head coach Carlo Ancelotti and Chelsea dominated the English top-flight that season. They won the league by finishing a point ahead of Manchester United but their attacking prowess was one to behold. They scored 103 goals, becoming the first team since Tottenham back in 1963 to score a century of goals in the top flight. Didier Drogba was in sensational form as he scored 29 goals while midfielder Frank Lampard scored a stunning 22 goals.
1. Manchester City 2017/18 - 106 goals
Who else but Manchester City could top the list that too in the Centurions season. The 2017/18 Premier League season was fantastic for the Cityzens as they managed to achieve a feat that no other team has been able to. They finished the season with 100 points. They also managed to score a stunning 106 goals over the 38 league games they played. Sergio Aguero bagged 21 goals, while Sterling racked up 18.
