Two former African champions lock horns in Rabat!

The Moulay Hassan Stadium in Rabat, Morocco, gears up to host the Matchweek 1 fixture of AFCON 2025, featuring two-time African champions Algeria and 1970 African champions Sudan.

After a decade since their last FIFA World Cup back in 2014, Algeria have made it to FIFA World Cup 2026 and will play their opener against defending champions Argentina. Les Fennecs won the AFCON in 2019 and are one of the favourites to top Group E and advance to the knockout rounds.

Sheddy Barglan (Sudan)
