Seleção will be aiming to return in winning ways.

Brazil are one of the favorites to clinch the Copa America this time after coming close in the last edition. They were defeated by Argentina in the final courtesy of a single goal from Di Maria.

The Seleção have made a poor start to the tournament with plenty of fans criticizing them for failing to test the goalkeeper. They attempted 19 shots against Costa Rica but only 3 of them were on target as woodwork denied them a goal. This match will be crucial for their chances in the tournament.

Brazil predicted lineup (Formation: 4-2-3-1)

GK: Alisson Becker

Alisson Becker has started the tournament on a brilliant note after keeping a clean sheet in the very first match of the competition. He has deputized in the absence of Ederson excellently in recent matches. Alisson had an off day in the last match after the opposition team failed to make any shot on target. However, his ball contribution was on point as he maintained a 100% passing accuracy and completed two successive long balls.

RB: Danilo

The Juventus skipper had a good game against Costa Rica in the opening match and will keep his side in the team. Danilo created two chances for his teammates while also helping the team defensively. Besides the attacking threat he provides, Danilo finished the match with 4 ball recoveries and made one tackle and interception each.

CB: Eder Militao

Eder Militao had an excellent game at the back as he helped the team nullify the threat of Costa Rica’s attackers. He had a calm and composed display at the back as he displayed incredible passing range. He maintained a 98.4% passing accuracy in the whole match while doing the defensive duties impressively. Militao finished the match with 2 interceptions, 5 recoveries, and winning four duels.

CB: Marquinhos

Marquinhos is probably the most experienced defender in the Brazil national team setup after making over 86 appearances for them since breaking into the side in 2013. He had an impressive outing against Costa Rica in the last match. He made 98.9% passing accuracy in the match while making long balls to change the passage of play. Marquinhos finished the match with 3 tackles, 2 interceptions, and 5 recoveries.

LB: Wendell

The Porto man will be hoping to make his first start in a major tournament for the national team. His performance in the friendlies was impressive which might give Dorival Junior to start him in this match. Wendell has made 3 appearances for the national team with all of them coming this year against the big teams. His attacking output from the left-hand side makes him a threat.

CM: Bruno Guimaraes

Bruno Guimaraes had a good game against Costa Rica in the opening match. He kept things simple and tidy in the middle of the park while controlling the tempo of the game. He created two chances in the match while attempting two shots. He had a busy time in midfield after winning all of his tackles and aerial duels. Guimaraes also made a crucial block while helping the defensive unit by making 9 recoveries. He has done enough in the match to cement his place in the team.

CM: Douglas Luiz

After a disappointing performance in the last match, Dorival Junior is likely to make some changes. One player who can benefit is Douglas Luiz after he enjoyed an incredible season with Aston Villa who will be playing Champions League football next season. Luiz brings composure in the middle of the park, as he can create chances with his excellent vision and also will help in shielding the back four.

RW: Raphinha

Raphinha has benefitted from the arrival of Dorival Junior at the helm as he has shown faith in him. He had a good game against Costa Rica in the opening match but could have done better with the standard he has set. Raphinha delivered an all-round performance in the match as he had two shots on goal and was inches away from scoring a goal. He also created two chances for the team while making two tackles and 3 recoveries.

AM: Lucas Paquetá

Lucas Paquetá will probably be on the move this summer after a good season at West Ham United. He had started the tournament in brilliant form after delivering a fantastic performance. He attempted five shots in the game while winning all of his duels. Paquetá finished the match with 7 recoveries, and 4 tackles and had a 100% dribble success rate. He will no doubt be aiming to help the team return to victory.

LW: Vinicius Junior

Vinicius Junior had a mixed day in the office as he couldn’t help the team win against Costa Rica. He didn’t have a single shot in the game but did create three chances for the team. After guiding Real Madrid to La Liga and Champions League double, he will be aiming to make a similar impact with the national team. Vinicius had an incredible season as he scored 24 goals and assisted another 9 goals.

ST: Rodrygo

Rodrygo failed to make much of an impact in the last match against Costa Rica. He attempted 6 shots in the match but failed to test the keeper. Rodrygo showed flashes of brilliance but couldn’t deliver the result. He created two chances for his teammates while playing some wonderful one-twos with Vinicius Junior. After a good season with Real Madrid where he netted 17 goals and assisted 8 assists, he will be hoping to make a similar impact in this match.
